"Life is not a fairytale, if you lose your shoe at midnight, you're drunk!" A pack of students cracked out in laughter after that statement. They were chatting merrily when I threw a gaze on them, but they suddenly stopped the moment that they noticed me.
Weird.
It's almost 11:00 am when I reached the school. Stares were everywhere as I walked on the corridor along the rooms of first year students. I reopened Alyana's phone to check here schedule today and perhaps, slid away with everyone's eyes. Crap! How can I survive this day? I don't really plan to attend school. Like hello! I'm already 26, unfortunately I'm stuck in a 21 years old body *urgh* I already threw the idea of schooling away! Long long time ago.
Flashback
Nervousness and uncertainty wrapped around my whole body, but a familiar scent took me back to reality. I breathed in a familiar scent of fried egg, cooking spices and herbs. My door was gently opened by a little girl, she was shocked to see me naked in front of the body sized mirror. At the moment, I'm scanning every part of Alyana's body, every inch of it. I'm not doing it out of perversion but out of curiosity, I want to satisfy the questions barging in my head, and studying the quick remarks of her body was the first step that I thought would work.
The little girl took a step back, "I'm sorry" she mumbled, that was close to whisper. I'm about to answer but she suddenly ran, I heard her fast steps together with her shout "breakfast is ready! Wear your clothes! Nami will be waiting..." Then, total silence, I stared at the door knob for a minute before returning my eyes on the mirror. I noticed something on her waist.
What's that? Wait a birthmark....the same as mine?
I heard a thump on the door. I gave a wild look while expecting another person to enter but no one came, "We're waiting, Alyana" an innocent voice uttered from the other side. A smirk was drawn on my face in amusement. I covered my body with Alyana's clothes. After two minutes, I hastened my pace towards the kitchen. Well lighted, the furnitures and the design were vintage inspired.
I slowly strode my legs to take a sit.
"What's with you, Alyana?" An old woman said, she plastered an odd look on her face. She aimed a bite on the apple served on the table. Hmmm, she might be Nami.
Receiving no response from me, she just heaved a deep sigh.
"Don't you plan to enter your classes today, big sis. Ever-----" her euphoric statement was cut down when I suddenly stood up on the wooden chair, creating a rough sound. My pace were geared up to my maximum speed. I know this is not my body, but I can't destroy her real life of course. I prepared myself, opening up her closet, dresses and civilian attires filled it. No uniforms? Assuming that they're not wearing uniforms, I picked an outfit that matches her attire on the picture. I really tried my best to make it on the shortest interval of time. Then *phew* I reached the gate of the house.
"Ncjsksjsbcdjaaikjxbcdbej" I know Nami was telling something, bit I'm too occupied by the rush. In the end, I didn't paid attention.
At the back of my brain, I know that it's just easy to reach Alyana's school, well, that's what I thought......
End of Flashback
"Room 423........423....42---ah, here it is" FINALLY! Alyana's subject today......Physics. Tightening up my grip on the loosening threads of my bag, I took a heavy step to enter the room when suddenly, a commotion started.
"You're so ugly b*tch!" The girl with a blonde hair grabbed the ID lace of a young woman in full bangs causing the notebooks and pens fall from her chair desk. "Fight back with your well wrinkled brain, nerd!" she added messing the prey's hair with noticeable force.
"Stella, stop!" Stares were shifted back to the man with a well comb hair, neatly ironed polo tucked nicely to his pants. Everyone inside the room threw a shocked glare towards his direction. Emanating in him is an authoritative and frightful aura.
I shifted my gaze on the bullied girl, she's crying.
I decided to move on the spot where the girl that they call as Stella was standing at. As I did, everyone inside the room seemed to be chanted with a spell, they never dared to make a move.
I saw an undeniable fear. I don't know, but I'm amused by the reaction. Alyana might be someone influential huh? I think it's gonna be fun.
I played close, and it didn't fail me to see a satisfying tremble on Stella's lips. I took a step closer to her shaky knees, my face just inches away. I leveled my lips to her ears.
"Let her go" I know that she felt my warm breath.
She's 5'7, way taller than the height of this body which was 5'2.
*clink*
My eyes should've melted holes if Stella's face was a thick block of ice. I don't want to scare a college girl, I'm too old for that, but I just can't take the view of bullying.
I checked the phone on my pocket, someone messaged me. Who's this?
You don't need to be that rough
I just smirked while I read the message. I roamed my gaze. The cold air squeezed in the classroom gave me the feeling of comfort, maybe because I'm used of the coldness, both of humans and the weather. While lost in deep thought. A masculine arm wrapped around my neck, not for the purpose of violence.
"Hey! You're late, Miss Veneracion. Can you please explain why?" A man with a deep blue eyes uttered that without looking at me. He's smiling widely. My mind told me to run away, but I managed not to, as far as I've observed, in conclusion, Alyana was a tough girl, and no one can ever dare to act cool around her unless they're friends.
"Uhm, I woke up late" I lied, the reality was I wasn't able to follow the rout directed on the phone. I never expected that Grimmson University was located on the city outskirts!
He suddenly placed the back of his palm on my forehead, "Are you sick, Yana?..." His eyes told me that he's serious. "I expected you to slap me with a 'you don't care,' the heavens had opened, you answered me with all kindness."
I attempted to open my mouth to reply, but I noticed that Alyana's classmates...no...my classmates, they hastily drove to their respective sits.
"Good morning, students!" a man in thick eyeglasses, with powerful posture spoke, “Today, you have a new classmate”
Lazily drumming my fingers on the desk, I felt someone’s presence at the back of my head, “Your new slave, Queen Alyana” a manly voice whispered, a pair of smirk and mischievous stares were turned to me after.
Wait I don’t understand.
My seat was positioned on the second row of third column. Leisurely drumming my fingers in the chair desk with a pad of paper whilst my feet stretched, just heels touching the floor. The room was filled with thick cold air hissed out by the aircon that took a neat spot on the ceiling.I threw a glance at the man behind me, he's the same man that sweetly wrapped his arm around my neck just a moment ago. He's wearing a mischievous smirk after pulling his head back to seal a good sitting posture, his remarkable bluish eyes were fixated to the new student. My eyes traced down to his lips, that's the very lips that breathed out a whisper to my ear. It's sexy huh?I shook my head a little to slash out the idea as I returned my attention to the dreamy eyed guy who's currently introducing himself."Uhm....I hope to have a good time with y
I'm happily looking at the demon's bridge, mesmerized how it creates a perfect circle with its reflection, I took out my camera to take another shot. As the flash made another click. I felt someone's presence."You also find it beautiful, do you?" a stranger said, giving me a tamed look."Yeah" I replied shortly, turning my gaze back to the fantastic view. I did not expect to have company at the moment. But it felt just fine to have someone to talk to.Amazed by the perfect engineering of the bridge, human touch can't be traced from the sharp design, it appears to be naturally formed. The builder of that bridge might have spent a lot of time planning and finally launching the work.
Ticks of the clock.I opened my eyes only to find out that I'm at the hospital.I can even smell the fumes coming out from the only God knows what kind of machine beside me."Alyana? Hey, you are awake, yey!" it was the small voice of Rave. She was about to leave, probably to call a nurse or to inform dad, but I grabbed her arm, "W-why, Alyana?" her voice was shaky, thinking that I gripped a little hard, I relaxed my hand."You don't have to be afraid, sweet heart. I just want to ask...w-what happened? Why am I here?""Last night, when you are heading to your room, you are looking too seriously at something in your palm. Then after that, you wailed 'aaaahhh' and then you suddenly fainted" her eyes glimmered in tears, "And oh.
Life holds a lot of mystery. Truths that one can know only by revelation, but still cannot fully understand. The puzzle of how we are created, how plants and animals work magnificently in nature, and the list goes on, which science, from decades and centuries ago tries to explain. But still, everything points out to a powerful being called God in every end and conclusion. In my case, traveling to another body of a different time was a big box of mystery. To decades ago, I wanted to be the most popular writer even after ages will wilt off. Researching too much and filling my brain with facts and ideas, I didn't even enjoyed my school life, because every now and then, acceleration program will always be on my side. I never thought that environment, almost everything, would change highly in just the interval of twenty years. I saw random names of writers and scientis
Time can really be playful sometimes. It can be an enemy or a friend, well, it depends. The clouds in the sky was clustered like grasses and stones. The weather hailed a mellow ambient.I glanced at the device infront of me: 3:00 PM. I sighed and laid my head on the head rest of the car. I ran my hand over my jaw and tried to steady my thoughts. I wanna focus at the moment. I can't take out the possibility that Brylle might be here, on the current generation, but I can't neglect the probability that he might not.Hero subtly looked at me."Do you have any problem?" He managed to say that while controlling the car to take a sharp turn on the right."I just want to ask, why aren't yo
It was a rainy afternoon. When I'm spending my time in my usual routine: reading inside the library."HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA REALLY BRO?! YOU MUST BE INSANE""Ssshhhhhh" every student inside the hall hissed in chorus.I plugged my earphones and played my favorite piano piece which is the 'Tiger'"She's a nerd, bro! Don't tell us you're willing to hang out with a girl like that, HAHAHAHA"My focus was altered. One more time, bastards, I'll make you crawl out in this library."HAHAHAHAHA, YOU'RE A TOTAL IDIOT, BRYLLE---""Don't you know how to read? I think that signage was big e
"Yna?.....Hey, Yna" Hero waved his hand inches away from my face."Oh, sorry. I-I just remembered something....." I didn't notice that I'd been staring on the blank wall for almost a minute or more."Never mind, try this dress" he moved aside to reveal a gradient from black to white tulle gown, laced with sequin in its basque waistline. It was an off-shoulder detailed with an applique art like a starry night. It looks so lovely in its floor-length on the dummy. Elegance was radiating from its A-line shape."Is it a thumbs up, Yna? Can't I hear a thank you?" He said leaning towards my direction, still glued beside the mannequin. The skinny woman, which I tagged as the 'head worker' went out from the door where Hero origin
I took another sip from the coffee on my mug. It's Saturday, the cloud bursted in tears. That's how life works at times, reminding that it's fine to break out, even the clouds cry when it becomes too heavy.I planted myself on a chair, raising both of my feet intertwined above the table with rapt attention on the view outside.I wiped the foggy window using my hand clenched into a fist trying to discern more of what's going on. Nothing, just grey things and shadows walking to and fro on the road. I stared a little longer and got tired of the grayness.I sat my mug on the table, vapor rising from the creamy liquid inside, creating a mist on the mirror.I bit my lip intensely, just enough for me to feel the faint pain, but I didn't care, my mind was busy searching for an
