Jasper's head was already on my lap; he had fallen asleep, and I was almost dozing off as well. Everything that happened was beginning to weigh down on me. Well, that was until I heard a shout from the front of the car; one of the guards dropped dead, the car before ours came to an abrupt stop.

I was confused. Why would anyone attack us here? I opened the car window a little and peered outside. It was the woods surrounding us, and I could recognize the woods as the ones before getting to Riverbells pack territory.

"Beta Arthur? Beta Arthur," I whispered to wake him up. I began to slap his leg gently. What kind of a deep sleeper is he? Who made him Beta again?

"Relax, princess, we are almost home," Beta Arthur mumbled, still dozing off, and I hissed. I had no choice but to wait patiently for whoever ambushed us to at least come to us.
