"Have a nice day, guys!" The professor packed up his books and left.

A lot of yawning and stretching broke out in the class. It sure was a tiring, one-hour of sitting and listening to boring monologs.

My head hit the desk in my attempt to get a nap, but Smith pulled me up.

"Not here, Carla. Let's go. You have to be in your next class in ten minutes, remember?"

"I'm sleepy," I whined with a pout, reaching for my bag, but he held it firmly.

"Let me help you carry it." He offered, giving my hair a playful ruffle. I didn't try to object. Smith was a stubborn guy. Sweetly stubborn, to be exact.

"Thank you." I smiled. We headed for the back door, and he held my hand, leading me up the small stairs.

We were approaching Dawson's seat, and it made my heartbeat race. He wasn't looking in our direction. Still, I felt the tension hovering around him.

As on cue, he switched seats with Michael, taking the seat closest to the aisle. What was he trying to do?
