CHAPTER 12: HER CRAVING

  “ What if I didn’t make it. What if I had died?”

  “ Sonia, don’t say that please. Nothing’s gonna take you away from me. The accident should be the last thing in your life.”

  She rose her head, staring into his eyes. “ Things happen unexpectedly.” She said to him. “If something ever happens to me, don’t mourn me too long. And. . . make a home without me.” She leans back on his chest.

  Not quite long, a car parked before the building. “They’re here.” She stood up, rushing to the door.

  John’s mood changed since their conversation. To him it felt like what happened to Sonia wasn’t just the end of it all.

  It felt like some thing else was yet to happen. Something that will take her away from him.

  About two more cars arrived, that was Cynthia’s and Uncle Abel. Well, guess today’s gathering calls for a meeting.

  “Hey, sweetie.” Mrs Sotomayor rushed for a hug, dropping kisses on her cheeks.

  “Mom.” She tried pulling her face but her mother held it back in position still kissing he
