CHAPTER 35

Charlotte's POV

I woke up early, feeling all sorts of emotions. I had slept off last night with the events of yesterday on my mind.

There was Asher, whom I'd had a crush on for years and who eventually turned out to be my mate, but he rejected me and hated my guts.

And then there's Humphrey, my sweet best friend who grew up with me; he confessed his feelings for me yesterday and left me shocked and dumbfounded. And to avoid hurting him, I had agreed to give him a chance. I didn't know if I had made the right decision or not, but remembering how he tried to kiss me last night and how I reacted, turning away and avoiding the kiss, I was thinking it wasn't my best decision.

I was pretty much excited for school but also nervous about seeing Asher and Humphrey. I got out of bed and started getting ready, trying to shake off the nerves.
