Chapter Seventeen: Unwanted

Ezekiel quickly emerged from the car and scanned the crowd in confusion, and when his eyes settled on Violet's form, he cursed excessively under his breath. He knew something had happened when Xavier abandoned the meeting and demanded to return to the pack and now he knew things would not end well, especially for the girl.

The back door opened roughly, and Xavier stepped out with a stoic face, and his black eyes stared intently at Violet, who shrunk back in fear. Everyone outside fell silent and the whole environment had gone quiet when Xavier stalked towards Violet, his eyes never leaving her body.
