Well, fuckiddy fuck fuck.
I guess I am going out with Connor now. All thanks to my big fat mouth. But whoever thought he'll jump on the Anya train so fast? I thought he was into Jessica?
"What do you mean you will date me now?" I asked again.
"I meant what I said. I shouldn't betray my best friend and go after his future wife when I have this great beauty pining over me," he smirked and put his arm around my shoulder.
Gross.
"Um...are you sure? Maybe you should think about it first. I mean...I'm so mean to you all the time, and I'm such a bitch..."
"What, changing your mind already? Maybe I should talk to Jessica then," he looked thoughtful.
"No, no, that's not what I meant. I am just shocked. I can't believe you're willing to accept my feelings so soon," I giggled nervously.
"Why not? We've known each other since kindergarten. If you think about it, we look damn good together. Besides, how could I say no to this face?" he pinched my cheek. I gritted my teeth to control my irritation. I wanted to punch him in his stupid handsome face.
"We are gonna be late!" I pushed his arms off me and ran out the door. I quickly took my position next to the other bridesmaids. My heart was beating fast as I couldn't believe what I had done. I'm taking it back after the wedding is over, I decided.
Connor joined us and stood next to Ansel after a minute or so. He had a smile plastered on his stupid face, and he kept looking at me. God, I can't stand him!
The music started, and it was time for the bride to walk down the aisle. I decided to stop worrying about Connor and focus on Jessica. She looked beautiful in her Vera Wang gown. I was in awe. Maybe one day it'd be me walking down that aisle, I imagined dreamily.
I looked at Ansel, who was also basking in her beauty. He was truly in love with her. I am glad I didn't let that jerk Connor ruin their day.
But what now? I have to break up with him.
After the ceremony was over, we were told to gather inside the venue for the reception. I had to sit next to Connor as Jessica made the seating chart. I should've told her to relocate me five tables away from him instead.
After the first dance of the bride and groom ended, Connor leaned closer to me. "You owe me a dance," he whispered.
His warm breath tickled my neck and gave me goosebumps. "How about it?" he asked quietly and extended his hand.
I wanted to say something smartass, but I couldn't think of anything. Instead, I took his hand and let him lead me to the dancefloor.
He touched my open back. But instead of feeling disgusted, I felt tingly and warm inside.
"This is quite a dress. I feel like I'm dancing with the queen of Moors." he chuckled.
"Queen of what?" I was confused.
"Nevermind that. What I'm. Trying to say is, it suits you. Although, I prefer you with it off," he smiled flirtatiously.
"That's so inappropriate. What's wrong with you!" I said in a hushed tone.
"You shouldn't mind since you're so smitten by me," he picked up a loose strand of my hair and twirled it around his finger.
"I DON'T LIKE YOU, YOU IMBECILE!" I screamed and pushed him off. He fell backward and hit the table behind him, making my aunt yelp.
Just kidding.
That was just my imagination. What I really did was smiled and said I wasn't smitten, and he just laughed about it. But god, I wish I could embarrass him right now!
He pulled me closer as they played another slow song.
"You smell nice," he whispered and tightened his grip on my waist. I prayed he didn't hear how loudly my heart was beating. I felt extremely nervous for some reason.
Calm down Anya. This is just Connor. Why are you acting like he is your old crush?
"You okay? You are shivering a little. Are you cold?" Connor looked at me with worry.
"Ah...maybe. I should go sit down. I feel a draft coming from the vent," I said in an attempt to get away from him. I waited for him to let go of my waist, but he hugged me instead.
"Is this better?" he asked.
I could hear his heartbeat as I rested my head on his chest. It was as fast as mine. Maybe I'm not the only one who's nervous.
I knew I had to push him off, but few more minutes like this wouldn't hurt, right? He just felt so warm and comfortable. I closed my eyes and snuggled against him.
"Are you sad that the wedding is over? I know how much you wanted to be with her," I murmured against his chest as I couldn't hold my curiosity.
"I'm devastated. I need you to make me forget my pain by kissing me all night," Connor chuckled softly.
Real smooth, you sarcastic bastard.
Wait...did he say kissing? I guess it was to be expected since we were 'dating.' I was doomed!
"You two look a little too close there."
Connor let go of me, and I turned around. Ansel was staring at us with his eyes narrowed to a slit.
"We were dancing," Connor suddenly sounded hostile.
Uh-oh...what was happening now?
"You should pay attention to your new wife Instead of watching me," he said firmly.
"She is my sister," Ansel barked.
"Err...she is standing right here," I decided to interject.
"Look, man, I don't want any drama. Let's just have a good time at your wedding, okay?" Connor suggested.
Ansel nodded. "Just watch yourself," he said and walked away. What was going on between these two?
"Come with me," Connor whispered and took my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked nervously as he pulled me away somewhere.
"Trust me," he said.
I am not sure if I should. Being alone with a notorious playboy was the last thing I needed.
"Wait, Connor! Where are you taking me?" I said frantically as he dragged me somewhere."Patience cupcake," he chuckled."I can't run in these shoes! My feet hurt!" I complained. I was more of a sneakers and boots gal, you see?
The dressing rooms were in a separate building away from the reception hall. Connor and I quickly headed there.Luckily Jessica and Ansel packed extra clothes to change into after the event was over. Too bad we would be the ones wearing them now.I changed into Jessica's Summer dress and walked
I looked down. At least I wasn't completely naked, I thought.Connor took off my clothes but left the bra and underwear on. I wasn't self-conscious about my body by any means, but I still felt embarrassed to be half-naked in front of him."Lean forward so I can wash your back," he said suddenly,
"You can't just declare I'm yours, Connor. That's not how it works!" I snapped."Alright, I guess I'll have to pursue you properly then," he shrugged.I sat there in shock after Connor dropped the bomb on me. Where did that confession even come from? He never told me he liked me even though we p
"What the hell, Connor! Where did you come from?" I cried."I'm Connor, pleasure meeting your acquaintance," he looked at Brian and said."Don't ignore me, you jerk!" I said.
Connor put on an apron, and I shamelessly stared at him with lusty eyes. I have a weakness for men who can cook, okay? Then I suddenly realized I was lusting over Connor of all people and snapped back into reality. Get a grip, Anya!"I am making steak and grilled potatoes. Does that sound good?"
We ate quietly for a moment. He kept looking at me every few minutes, making me feel flustered. I tried to busy myself by attacking the steak."I'll do the dishes," I offered.
"Aargh!" I groaned and face planted on the couch. It has been a week since our little date, and I couldn't get him out of my mind. He looked so sad when he dropped me off and left without saying a word."Okay... I'll ask. What's wrong?" Courtney asked."I think I might've messed things u
