Chapter 50

The drive seemed to take forever but was probably only fifteen more minutes. Not only did I not want it getting out that I wasn’t actually a Lennox, but anyone who knew my birth mom would make the other connection I was still ignoring.

Kal carried me upstairs once we got home, I could tell he wasn't sure what to say to me if anything. I could feel his guilt, but it wasn't his fault he didn't know the real identity of my birth mother, I only just found out he knew I wasn't a Lennox last night. 

"Can we take a bath?" My voice was soft and defeated. I knew the soaker tub would easily accommodate us, and I needed all of him against all of me. I needed his sparks and his scent to wrap around me and not let go. 

He just looked at me with those deep green eyes and nodded. His touches were incredibly gentle as he helped me undress and ran the water, slowly lifting us in. I was straddled on his lap facing him, his hand gently cupping and stroking my cheek
