"No, Josh," I said, moving my head aside, not wanting him to kiss me anymore.
"What is wrong?" he asked me. "Aren't you enjoying this as well?"
I moved away from him, hiding my body with my sheet and sat at the side of the bed, while he rested on his knees in the middle of the bed, anxious to touch me again.
I heard his heavy breathing while he stared at me.
"Don't you forgive me, Rose?"
I suddenly felt a strange feeling within me, hatred of the name he had given me.
"My name is not Rose," I snapped.
I felt the bed move as he rolled over to sit next to me. He ran the back of his hand against mine. I quickly got up and walked toward the closed door, standing in front of it, facing Josh.
He lowered his head in disappointment and stared at the floor. Then he lifted his head and stared back at me. "What can I do to make you trust me again?" he asked me, seeming to be sad.
I then remembered his mate, my cousin Emma.
"Bang! Bang!" I heard a knock on the door. "Bang! Bang!" It came again. I slowly opened my eyes. I was still there on the same spot where I had fallen last night, after Josh had hurt me. Tears again filled my eyes as his harsh words echoed in my ears like the ringing of a bell, haunting me. "It's time to work," I heard a voice say. I jumped up immediately, realizing it was Francine waiting for me. How long was I asleep? I ran to open the door. "I'm sorry, Francine," I apologized to her. She looked at me without smiling on seeing that I was still dressed in the same clothes that she'd left me in the night before. "I'm in the kitchen waiting on you. Change your clothes immediately, and don't let this day repeat itself," she said, and exited my room. I quickly changed, putting on a long green dress with white flowers. It was beautiful. I loved it, and it sat on my body like my second skin. I ran to the kitchen and saw Francine sha
The room he'd been locked up in for years because of the angry dark wolf living inside him was like a small apartment. There was a living room, his bedroom, and a bathroom. His mother, the Luna, had designed the space, wanting him to be comfortable, but how could he feel relaxed living a life where he was unable to control his beast? He was locked away from everyone, his family, and most of all from ever finding his one true mate. He'd started to worry about his mate, even though he'd never met her. He thought about how sad she must be, not being able to find him. He angrily sank his fingers into the bed sheet, ripping it, thinking how heartbroken his mate must be, being out there trying hard to find him. Many such thoughts filled his head as he worried about other male wolves taking advantage of her and hurting her. He howled, angry at the thought of anyone hurting her, causing an echo in his room. "Moon Goddess," he said, softly. "Please take care of my mate
Christian walked back toward the couch and sat. He wanted her to see that he had no intention of hurting her. He wanted to know who had filled his mate's head with rubbish, causing her to fear him. Yes, he was dangerous to be around, very, but within his human form he was the nicest person you could ever meet. What did he expect? He was born an Alpha and would one day be the ruler when his father, Alpha Pharaoh, was gone. He had to stay on guard at all times, but not around his mate. On hearing her sweet voice, he returned to the present. Her voice was as peaceful as listening to a stream while falling asleep. "Can I clean now, sir?" she asked him, still scared. "Sir," he said out loud, hating that she called him by that word. His wolf wanted his mate to call him by his name. He wanted her to call him Christian. He was hers and she was his. She looked at him. He sensed that she wanted to do the job she had come to do and get the hell out of there, away from h
I kept on hearing his powerful voice in my head. "If anyone hurt you, you know where to find me." I froze, staring at the closed door. I did not know what to make of it, but being around him gave me a strange, unusual feeling, as if I had found someone who loved me and a place I could call home. At first, I was terrified of him, but when he talked, his powerful voice gave me a soothing feeling. I felt that I should stay with him and never leave him. I felt safe with him. I touched the door, running my hand across it, feeling the hardness and the scratch marks which were created by him. I started to wonder why Francine was so terrified of me entering his cell. What if the Alpha had locked him up inside, just like my evil grandmother had done to me and wanted everyone to believe that he was evil? I knew how it felt to be locked up, to be away from everyone and how terrible it was being alone and only meeting the walls of the room every day. I had to sav
"No," I said to my wolf, not thinking it wise to change or to go with the strange dark wolf. However, I felt a strong feeling within me as if my wolf wanted to cry. I looked at the red eyed large beast as it howled at me. "What are you doing to my wolf?" I said to it. It was as if it was controlling my wolf with its howls. I heard my wolf speak. "I want to go with him," she said, fighting its way from out of my body. I looked around seeing my beautiful green dress, all torn up, flying all over the place like dead leaves and realized that I was no longer in my human form. I was standing on four feet. "Woo," the wolf in the forest called me again. I felt my feet move and I was running into the forest. I felt a strange feeling of happiness as I ran to meet him. Soon, I was close to him that our faces touched. The wolf howled softly at me. I was no longer afraid of him. I felt safe. I closed my green eyes, as it got even closer to me, rubb
I stared at the bright red blood dripping slowly from my lips onto my hand then to the floor, next to my feet. I watched it splashing against my toes. I held my mouth in pain and stared at the Alpha. He stared at me and smiled, enjoying what he had done. I wanted to run to my room and cry, but I was scared, so scared to even take a step backward, away from him. I did not want to feel any more pain. My mouth hurt. I had to clench my teeth to endure the pain. "The pain that I felt when your father raped and took my first Luna away from me was far greater than what you are feeling," he said, and pushed my bloodied hand away from my mouth. "Ah!" I cried out in pain, falling to the floor onto my knees. He pulled me by my red hair and brought his face to mine. "You shall feel the pain I went through," he said angrily, while his spit flew into my eyes. He threw me to the floor. I opened my eyes and rolled to my side. "I hate you!" he shouted
"Ha-ha!" I heard the evil Alpha laugh outside the beast’s room. "Kill her, beast! Rip her apart! Make sure there are no remains of her!" he shouted. I trembled on the floor, scared—scared of opening my eyes. I clenched my teeth and closed my eyes tightly, waiting for what would happen. My heart raced, the beats echoing in my ear. I heard the heavy footsteps of the beast approaching me. "Grrr," I heard it growl as it came closer, until I felt hot air escaping from its nostril against my face. My lips trembled at feeling his breath, and my heart raced even more in my chest, causing me to feel the pain of every beat it made. I did not move. I lay on the floor pretending to be dead. At that moment I wanted to die. I wanted my heart to stop. I did not want to die being torn apart by his sharp teeth. I thought of how terrible my death was going to be. I peed myself. I was petrified. "Whenever you need my help, you know where to find me," I heard Christian's voice i
Questions filled my head about the large dark beast who was in the passageway fighting his father for me. Why was he protecting me? Why did he visit me in the forest? Why does my wolf feel so peaceful around him? Why did I feel so safe with him, more than I had ever felt with anyone, and he was only a stranger? On hearing a scream, I jumped up. "Pharaoh!" I heard the Luna scream through her tears. I ran from Christian’s bedroom into the living room and out into the passageway. I covered my mouth on seeing Alpha Pharaoh lying on the floor, nude. He was covered in blood from head to toe. It seemed that he had shifted in fighting back, but had lost. The Luna ran over to her mate and rested his bloody head on her lap and sobbed. "Why?" she cried. "What have I done to deserve this, Moon Goddess?" she shouted, as she rocked her mate who seemed as if he was dead, back and forth on her lap. I stood away from the Luna, next to the dark beast's door, trying to
