Evelyn took the basket before setting off to search for some fruits and herbs. She has to collect them and sell them in the nearby village market so she can buy clothes and necessities.
The forest gave her food and water but it can't give her blankets and shoes. She needs money for that. Earning money wasn't that hard for Evelyn since she knew where all the rare herbs grew. She could even cultivate them if she wants which was a plus point of living in the forest.
The herbs are going to be costly around this time of the year because winter will be coming soon. She could use the extra money to buy a new blanket, the old one was torn already.
She was contemplating staying in the treehouse till winter is over but then decided against it. She should move as soon as she gets the money and things. Finding a place to stay before winter comes can be a hard task and she didn't have any time to waste.

It's been two days since Evelyn left the treehouse to find a new place but so far she didn't have any luck. The cold was starting to bother her. It wouldn't be good if she caught a cold because she doesn't even have a place to rest.
The bag with her clothes and things are starting to feel heavier as she takes each step. Evelyn wanted to give up. She didn't know why she was still holding on.
Always running. Always hiding. Always living in fear. What was the point of living like this?
Sometimes she really wanted to end it all but something inside told her to hold on, whispering to her to be strong and patient. Just like it was telling her now to keep walking towards the north.
Evelyn stuffed her hands into her worn-out jacket to warm them up. She regrets not buying a pair of gloves when she went to the market. The cold was beginning to make her hand itch.
She needed to find a place before nightfall. Spending the night in the cold would definitely make her ill. Falling ill in a forest without even a place to rest is a nightmare for anyone.
Evelyn looked around her. The distance between trees increasing as she took each step. She knew she shouldn't be going to clear areas. It's not safe there. But a clear place meant more sunlight and Evelyn needed the sunlight as much as she can get at the moment.
The sound of running water made her stop on her tracks. It wasn't that loud so it couldn't be a waterfall or a river.
A stream perhaps?
She slowly walked towards the sound hoping to find a treehouse or even a tent. She desperately needed a place that could shelter her for tonight.
The girl stopped, surprised as she stared ahead at the abandoned cabin. She stood there for a minute analyzing the cabin. Who built a cabin in the middle of nowhere? Why did they abandon it?
The cabin looks fine. The roof was okay even though the wood was cracked here and there. It even had a door.
Does anyone still come here?
She had a lot of questions but she didn't have the time to ponder on them as the sun would be setting in a few hours.
She hurriedly ran to the cabin, making as much as sound possible so if any animals were inside, they would know her arrival. She didn't want to scare any animal by just barging in there unexpectedly.
Evelyn slowly opened the cabin door, it wasn't locked since the doorknob looked almost broken. The cabin was pretty much empty except for a rusting iron table. The floor was dusty and covered with dry leaves. She will have to clean it so she could sleep on there.
Evelyn put her backpack down before walking out of the cabin. After a few minutes of trying, she made a broom out of tree leaves so she could clean the cabin floor.
The sun was going down. She has to clean and set up a fire as fast as possible before the cold becomes unbearable. The dry leaves will be hard to burn once it's cold.
After an hour, the girl successfully set up the fire. Evelyn sat there looking around. The place is beautiful and comfortable but unfortunately, she can't stay here for long. Open places like this meant people would come here often. She has to leave and search for another place tomorrow.
Evelyn took the iron table and placed it behind the door so it won't open because of the wind. The cabin was warm because of the little fire she made.
She made a place for her to sleep on the floor and snuggled into her new blanket. Evelyn tried to sleep but she couldn't get her mind free from all the thoughts running through it.
One of the biggest doubts Evelyn has right now is about her mate. Will she ever meet her mate? How can she meet them if she keeps hiding in the forest? What if they had already given up on her?
All those thoughts made her heart heavy. She didn't want to burden her mate. They deserve to be happy and if she finds them she decided she will try her best to make them happy.
Maybe she can find her happiness too...

Evelyn jolted awake the next morning, hearing shouts and murmurs outside the cabin. She frantically looked around her to see that the cabin door was still closed, but there were voices of people talking outside.
She took the blanket and stuffed it into her bag, ready to run if she needed to. The girl slowly walked to the door to peek through the little hole beside it.
There were three men, two of them talking to each other while the other person looked around the cabin.
'I shouldn't have stayed here. I should've known it wasn't safe....I'm so stupid.' The girl internally cursed herself for her decision.
"Guys, I'm going to see who's inside," One of them said taking a step towards the cabin.
They were all high ranked wolves. One could easily tell that by the way they looked and carried themselves. There's no way Evelyn could escape from their hands.
"Calvin, wait. Take out your gun." One of them shouted making Evelyn tremble.
'A g-gun?' She clutched her bag, slowly moving to the corner of the cabin.
"No need for the gun. It's an omega, I can smell them." The guy, who's named Calvin, replied walking towards the door.
Evelyn could hear the heavy footsteps of the guy coming near and it made her heart thump in fear.
'This is it. They're gonna kill me.' Her eyes blurred as she hugged herself.
The iron table fell to the floor as the guy pushed open the door with force. The loud sound made Evelyn flinch.
The guy looked around before his eyes fell on the girl curled up in the corner. He called the others who were outside, ready to attack if needed.
The three men looked at the girl trembling in fear. She was a little pale and had long blonde hair. The girl didn't look like a threat but they couldn't just let her go even if she's an omega.
"I'm going to link the Alpha to tell him that we found a rogue omega," One of them said and the others nodded.
"Hey.....what's your name? Where are you from? " One guy asked her, trying to stop her from panicking. He had brown skin and curly hair, and it made his green eyes stand out.
He was gorgeous just like the other two. They looked so powerful and elegant which made Evelyn feel so small.
She remained silent, too afraid to say something. The guy sighed, looking at the other. "What are we gonna do with her? " He asked the guy who's named Calvin.
Calvin shrugged, uninterested. "I don't know, let's do what the Alpha says." He said, leaning on the wooden wall.
"Alpha is here, " They heard the guy who went outside shout. The two guys straightened up their posture.
"Where's the omega? " The new voice made Evelyn shiver. The voice sounded so deep and powerful.
'It must be the Alpha.' She thought as the said guy stepped into the cabin.
Evelyn didn't have the time to think because suddenly she was engulfed in a strong scent of cinnamon and honey. She looked at the man who stood there towering over her.
He was gorgeous.....He had midnight black hair and sparkling blue eyes.
Evelyn wanted to touch him, hold him, and be close to him so bad. There was something inside her telling her to go to him. She didn't know what was happening. The only thing she knew was that her heart is jumping in excitement and she felt happy.
She felt happy and content for the first time in forever.
'What is happening? Why am I feeling like this? Is this what I think it is? Is he-Is he my mate?' There were a lot of questions in her mind.
Evelyn looked at the man's eyes that were now a shade darker as he stared at her. He had an unknown expression on his face. She tried to smile at him but stopped when she saw him frown.
"Her? " He pointed towards her. His voice laced with so much disappointment and disgust that it made the poor girl whimper.
She searched her mate's face, hoping to see even just a little bit of happiness but there was nothing except pure frustration.
Evelyn felt her vision blur. The only hope she was holding on to was falling in front of her like a helpless sandcastle.
This was her worst nightmare........
The man stared at her with a distasteful look on his face. Evelyn wanted to crawl into a hole. It was obvious that her mate wasn't happy with her.She doesn't blame him. How can anyone be happy with a girl like her? She was weak and uneducated, and doesn't even know how to defend herself. Her mate is the alpha of a Pack. Evelyn knew how important is an Alpha and Luna to a Pack. She doesn't think she's qualified for that responsibility."Take her to the pack doctor," The Alpha said, his face void of any kind of emotion. Evelyn didn't dare to make eye contact, for some reason she knew that the Alpha didn't like it.Her mate then walked out of the cabin, not even bothering to give the girl a second glance. Evelyn stared at her other half leaving, his scent disappearing with him.She looked down, unable to hold back the tears in her eyes. She didn't want to cry i
Evelyn hesitantly stood in front of the door not knowing what to do. She was afraid of what her mate is about to say. The girl had lost all of her hope about being accepted.'What if he doesn't like me? What if he's already married?W-what if he r-rejects me?' Alarming thoughts passed through Evelyn's mind as she stood there fidgeting with the hem of her sweater. It took her a minute to calm down and bring herself to finally find the courage to go into the room.Taking in a deep breath, Evelyn slowly raised her hand to knock."Come in," A deep voice came from inside the room, making her hand pause in mid-air. The omega gasped and stepped back, surprised at how her mate knew she was there. The alpha smelled the presence of the girl the minute she got there. It was an alluring scent of jasmine that was so hard to ignore. He was waiting for the omega to knock but spoke up when he
"Evelyn, are you alright?" Amelia's worried voice made the omega snap out of her thoughts. She was staring mindlessly at the window when Amelia came to her room."You seemed to be in deep thoughts," The tan-skinned doctor said, amusement slipping through her voice."I... It was nothing... " Evelyn looked down, she still felt a little awkward talking to people even though Amelia did her best to make Evelyn feel at home.Evelyn couldn't see this place as her home no matter how much she tried to. She won't ever feel warmth in this place as long as her mate doesn't accept her..."How's your fever?" Amelia asked as her hand was immediately on Evelyn's forehead, checking the temperature."It's okay, I think. I feel a lot better now,"Amelia nodded, "You should still drink the herbal tea, it's good for your health." She smiled at the ome
"How's it, Luna?" One of the omega maids asked as Evelyn tasted the soup."It's really good," Evelyn smiled. "Also, you can call me Evelyn. I'm not the Luna..." She looked down. It felt awkward to Evelyn that almost everyone was calling her something she isn't."That's okay, you're going to be the Luna soon." The maid chirped happily before going to take care of her awaiting chores.Almost every omega in the Pack is excited about Evelyn becoming the next Luna because it's the first time an omega is taking over that position. It's natural for them to think that they finally have someone who understands them.Evelyn sighed. She couldn't tell the omegas about how complicated her relationship is with the Alpha and it made her heart heavy because she was giving them hope about something that is most likely not going to happen."Luna! Good morning!" A high pitched v
"What are you doing here?" The Alpha asked, his jaws clenching as he eyed the omega. His Beta, Calvin, was right beside him—staring at the omegas uninterested."I-I... W-we were just—" Evelyn stuttered not knowing what to say. Rain quickly moved and found a safe spot behind the girl."Who gave you permission to go out?" The Alpha asked, taking long strides towards the omegas."N-No one, I-I didn't k-know I had to ask—I'm s-sorry." Evelyn nervously chewed on her lips. The flower petals falling from her hair as she lowered her head in submission."Don't repeat this next time when you step out of the Packhouse." The Alpha scolded as he glared at the omega.Evelyn just meekly nodded in reply, afraid to speak up. Keiran shifted his gaze to the boy behind her."You're hanging out with him?" He huffed staring at the omega hiding behind Evelyn. Rain looked down, not d
Evelyn heard the faint murmur of people talking inside as she walked towards the room. To say she was nervous would be an understatement. Evelyn was shaking as she took each step. The people inside that room are the ones who are going to decide her destiny."You can go in, Luna." The omega maid said as she opened the huge wooden door. Evelyn gulped as the voices were now clear and understandable but they seem to be talking about something that Evelyn couldn't quite understand. She thanked the maid before taking a deep breath and stepping into the room. The voices died down as soon as she entered the room.Evelyn looked to her left to see that everyone in the room was staring at her. The omega held her breath not knowing what to do as there was an awkward silence in the room. There were nine people in the room including her mate. They all sat on a big leather couch that was arr
"You'll be the Luna today, yay!" Rain shouted bouncing around."Stop bouncing on the bed, Rain. You'll feel dizzy." Evelyn sighed as she warned the hyper boy. He ate too much sugar today.Rain stopped and took out his fifth lollipop. He carefully unwrapped it and put it in his mouth before continuing to bounce on the bed.Evelyn shook her head as she folded all the new clothes Amelia bought her. It wasn't much, just a few more pairs of jeans and sweatshirts for her to wear."Who gave you all these lollipops?" Evelyn questioned the boy who kept jumping on the bed.He stopped and took the candy stick out of his mouth. "Amelia bought this for me! They're all mango flavored! Do you want one? I also got cupcakes and chocolate bars but they're in my room." Evelyn figured that the omega was sugar high from how excited he was talking."No, I don't want one and th
Amelia and Scarlet helped Evelyn to get ready as the omega didn't seem to know anything about makeup.Evelyn was beautiful even without makeup but a light touch of some blush, lip gloss, and eyeliner did magic to her face. She let her long hair down free as it was more beautiful that way.Evelyn's long golden hair is something that makes people stop and stare at her for a minute. It came down to her hips in shiny wavy curls."Here, wear these earrings," Amelia said as she gave the omega the jewelry. The earrings were beautiful with a long chain and with a simple stone hanging at the end of it."It looks like raindrops," Evelyn smiled as she looked at the jewelry amused." They're sapphire," Amelia said making Evelyn look at her."Huh? " The omega asked, her head tilted in confusion.
