Chapter Twenty-One: Daniel's POV

“What is going on here?” I asked as I stepped into the hall to see my father and a couple guards flanked around Emily.

He turned to stare at me, a frown plastered on his face. “Did you not hear that your wife had collapsed after coughing an ample amount of blood?”

“I heard. What does that have to do with Emily?” I crossed my arms and moved closer.

“You cannot arrest me, without proper questioning. I too, know the law, Alpha Leonard.” Emily said boldly and Father chuckled.

“If you knew and understood the law, you shouldn’t have poisoned your Alpha’s wife.” He said angrily and Emily gave him a look.

“First of all, he is not my Alpha. Secondly, I did not poison anyone. Thirdly and lastly, do you have proof of me doing such things? Are there CCTV cameras here? Did they catch me doing anything to anybody?” She asked.

“Why are you asking so many questions?” Father was becoming irritated by Emily’s questioning and it was all over his face.
