Chapter 34

I laid on Callan’s chest for hours, neither of us moving. I knew that neither of us were asleep, but neither of us spoke. Lela paced in my head and I knew that she was filled with worry about the pending battle.

‘Have you talked to Rollo?” I finally asked her, hoping that it would provide some level of information that would ease my anxiety. And fear.  There was a lot of fear there. And all my training at controlling my emotions was slowly slipping out the window and I feared that I would have a panic attack.

‘Rollo is confident, but I know that he is concerned. Rogues are unpredictable. And Xavier has that witch working with him, so we don’t know what is going to happen.’ Lela sighed but thankfully stopped pacing.

I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 1:30 AM. Just an hour and half before Callan was meeting with the warriors to finalize all the plans. Sunrise was at 5:45 AM this morning, and Damien was confident
