I was right, the week had dragged on and on, seeming as if it were never going to end. I was looking forward to my meeting with Blaze, but more importantly I hoped I could get another glimpse at Haven. She may have been insane in my dreams, but it almost made me want her more.
I honestly had no idea what type of person she was. I had seen her one time for what seemed like three seconds. Definitely not enough to make a character judgment.
I materialized at the clearing where I was to meet with Blaze again to finalize our deal. The regular line of Necromancer Soldiers appeared and stood at attention. A few moments later the two in the middle moved out of the way for the King to come through.
“Ave reginae ad omnes.” They all chanted in unison. Wait, all hail the Princess? I needed to work on my Latin, that was for sure, but I was sure that was what they just said. Just then Haven appeared walking through them into the clearing. Blaze was nowhere to be found.
My god she was beautiful. She was wearing a pair of high waisted shorts that were black and a black crop top hoodie with a skeleton hand flipping me off on the front. Her hair was falling in waves down to her ass, same as last time, and she was wearing dark makeup as well. A fitting outfit. I thought, and I couldn’t help the dirty thoughts that started swimming through my mind. I fought to gain my composure as she approached me.
“Haven.” I said as I bowed deeply. “Raphael.” She replied. Her angelic voice sent chills down my spine. “Where is your father?” I asked her. “He was caught up in some other business, so he sent me instead.” She said back, matter of factly.
“Well, ok then. I have proposed the conditions of our agreement to my coven Priests. They have agreed in unison, and we are ready to deploy our troops to your lands. It’s your call, Princess.” I purred and we locked eyes. I could see something flash through hers, what was that? Annoyance, hatred, or desire? Maybe a mix of all three?
“You may proceed. I would suggest you stay within our guest quarters for the first week to ensure your troops do as they are instructed. This will provide a seamless transition for both my people and yours.” She suggested.
I thought about it for a minute. Staying in their guest house huh? And who’s idea was this? Blazes, or Havens? Either way, I wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to get closer to Haven.
“I will take you up on your offer, Princess.” I said with another bow. I swear I could see excitement flash through her eyes, although her face remained still. “Let me return to my home to pack, and I will return here with my soldiers in 1 hour. Once we get them settled you can show me the guest quarters?” I questioned.
I saw a slight smirk form on her face at my question. “I will see you in one hour. Do not be late.” She purred with a wink that only I could see. “I wouldn’t dream of it.” I purred, then I materialized at home.
I quickly threw together a few things. I honestly didn't even need to pack. Being a Reaver, I could materialize anything I needed or wanted. I decided if I was going to be staying for a week, I may as well have some of my own things that I'm used to. Once I was done, I went and gathered my troops who were to be the first patrol, and we headed out.
My troops couldn't materialize on their own, never having been there, but I was able to materialize there first allowing them to just materialize to me. We appeared in the clearing where Haven was already waiting. I didn't see the lineup of soldiers, but I was sure they were there, just invisible.
Haven took each soldier and explained where they were to go and what they were looking for. She gave information to them regarding her lands and previous threats they had encountered.
Us Reavers rarely have a threat or anyone messing with us, but the Necromancers weren’t so lucky it seemed. It made me wonder just what was going in with their lands in order for their King to agree to my alliance. It must have been something pretty bad.
Watching Haven, I was impressed with her leadership skills. She seemed to be just an extremely pretty face, but it was now clear that she was a leader as well. My men, no doubt, were as intrigued by her as I was. It was hard not to be, and they listened to her every word treating her as if she were the King himself.
This alliance was built on respect… At least from our side. The Necromancers seemed to have a different view since they didn’t even want our help to begin with.
Once Haven was done directing the troops, she made her way back to me. I watched as her hips swayed back and forth, arms swinging to the sides as she walked over. I just wanted to pounce on her, but I kept my composure.
“This way.” She said, as she took my hand and we walked towards the tree line. I couldn’t help but get dejavu as this was just like my dream. I didn't care what she did, I wasn’t marking her and that was final.
We got into the trees where I was sure we were alone, when she turned around to face me. “Don’t get any fucking ideas, Reaver. My daddy would have your head on a pike so goddamn fast.” She spat, poison filling her words. I smirked, but I could tell she was interested. She was trying to see how far she could push it apparently.
I closed the gap between us with one step wrapping my free hand around her waist and pulling her into my chest. We locked eyes and I could see fear and arousal flash through hers. Our faces were only inches apart. I could hear her heartbeat quicken and she sucked in a shar breath at my advance.
“Non satus ludos non potes consummare.” I growled in her ear. Telling her not to start games she can't finish in Latin. I released her hand which was still intertwined in mine and used my thumb to touch her bottom lip softly. I felt her body shudder underneath my touch. Good girl. I thought.
She seemed annoyed that her body reacted this way, as if it betrayed her. Then I let her go and stepped back. “Now where were we? Oh yes, heading to the guest quarters.” I said with one eyebrow raised.
She regained her composure, shot me a deadly glare which turned me on even more, and turned away from me heading deeper into the forest.
I followed her for quite some time it seemed. At one point Haven stopped and turned to check if I was still there. I raised my eyebrow at her, she rolled her beautiful green eyes at me and kept going. This should be fun… She’s going to play hard to get.
Little did she know the game was the best part. I knew she wanted me though. Her body gave it away at my simple touch.
Don’t try anything? Ha! I fully planned on doing just that.
Chapter 6After what seemed like forever we came to a clearing with a huge wooden gate in its midst. It was guarded on both sides and on top by Necromancer soldiers like the ones from our meeting place. “Ave reginae ad omnes.” They all chanted in unison, opening the gate and letting us through. It seemed they always greeted their King or Princess with this phrase. Very formal.Once inside the gate I saw a cobblestone road with gothic looking cottages lined up and down both sides of the street. There were multiple streets branching off with more cottages. It looked as if all the businesses were stationed along this straightaway, and the homes were along the branched off roads. I noticed all the Necromancers who saw us walking down the road stopped to stand at attention. I was used to this, my covens did this as well. These people were extremely formal. The main road went on for quite a way, a couple of miles at least. I watched as it ran into another gate. This one was made of wrought
Chapter 7It was about 6:45pm when Haven knocked on my door. I set my book down to answer it. She grabbed my hand and we headed down to dinner. She let go of my hand right before we entered the dining hall, and I was surprised she held onto it that long. Any of the warriors or guards could have seen, and I'm sure they would report everything to her father. She’s a daring little thing. I thought. The danger of being caught just intrigued me more. The dining hall was beautiful. It had the same dark and dreary atmosphere as the entire castle. There were at least four huge black crystal chandeliers above us, casting an eerie glow down to the floor. The paintings on this floor depicted the dead being risen and Necromancers using magic. If I were to guess, I’d say they were life sized paintings. But as far up on the walls as they were, I couldn’t tell their actual size. The room was large with tables lined throughout the hall. I assumed from the size, that they all ate together, usually. T
Chapter 8God Damnit. I thought to myself, pinching the bridge of my nose again. The Cryomancer was standing there looking at me curiously. No wonder the Cryomancers are attacking, the fucking Necromancers have one of their kind locked up. They won't stop until they get her back. But when they do… And they find out she's dead… They are going to start a fucking war. My thoughts were raging. How exactly do we get ourselves out of this mess? The Cryomancer seemed calm and collected. She wasn’t angry or spiteful, and I wasn’t sure if it was because I’m a Reaver or if there was another reason. But the second she heard rustling in the tunnel she turned towards the sound, let out a screech, and shot an array of ice crystals down the hall at whoever was approaching. I heard their scattered footsteps as they ran back the other way.She then locked eyes with me. “What is your name?” She said into my mind. I turned to look around to see if anyone else was near enough to have heard that. Was I goi
Chapter 9My dreams were riddled with Haven, Necromancers and Cryomancers. I should have just dreamwalked and got myself out of that mess, but I was hoping maybe my dreams would have given me any type of ideas as to what to do with this situation we had ended up in. Unfortunately, I was unable to come to any conclusions. I got up and hopped in the shower, threw on a traditional silver suit with black accents and black shoes. Ran my hand through my hair and headed down to speak to the Cryomancer. It was a little strange… I didn’t see anyone out and about or walking around. The tunnels were lacking the few guards that were roaming around down there yesterday when we went as well. I wonder what they are doing, or where they are at? I ignored the thought though, because when I finally came to the small tunnel entrance I could see it was now covered in glistening ice crystals. So, she really pushed it and made an entire ice tunnel, I see. I stepped inside and the temperature instantly dr
Chapter 10“Raphael! Raphael...” Haven’s worried voice rang through my ears. My eyes slowly fluttered open to find myself in Haven's arms. She was slapping my face a little and saying my name. As I registered where I was, the memories came flooding back in pieces. Marina, my frustration, the scotch, Haven in that short dress… Mmm, that short dress. I sat up and instantly could feel a thick fuzzy sensation leaving my head. That same sensation I get when I'm near Marina and she speaks to me through my mind. It almost feels like something slithering through my thoughts. I rather disliked it, honestly. “What the fuck happened to me?” I asked Haven as I got up off the floor and brushed my suit off. She didn’t answer so I turned to look at her, but she was gone. "What the fuck... Haven?“ I said out loud. I know she was here. I literally just saw her. Was I really that out of it that I just imagined her? I wandered out into the hallway to see if she was out there for some reason. She wasn’
Chapter 11Something crazy was happening, and I knew I wasn't losing my mind. Or was I? I have noticed I’ve been on edge a lot more than usual. I chalked it off to being stuck here with these filthy Necromancers. That, and sexual tension, of course. Giving up my plaything wasn’t my best decision. In fact, I was now kind of regretting it. Then there’s Haven being a damn tease. I felt my jaw tense up at the thought of her. But what if it was more than I was thinking? I grabbed some sort of fancy pastry off the tray sitting on the dining room table. What if I'm brushing it off as normal occurrences, when whatever it might be is literally right under my nose? I needed a break from these dirty Necromancers. Maybe I was turning into one of them. The thought made me laugh. Not in a thousand years.I materialized to the park by my home. It was one of my favorite places to sit and think. There was a bench right off the river trail where I could sit and read. Here, I could still see the people
Chapter 12“God Damnit!” I yelled out loud, pounding my fist into the floor. I stood up and took a deep breath in, I was not losing my mind. I decided to keep this escapade to myself for now and headed out to find Blaze. The Necromancers seemed to have no idea what was going on behind the scenes and I was determined to find out more. I couldn't find Blaze anywhere in the castle, so I headed outdoors to see if he was in the courtyard. I found him outside with a few other warriors raising the dead. They were brought in by my people during shift change. "Per manum meam, et mortui resurgent." I could hear him chanting as he raised the dead one by one and commanded them to a separate area of the castle. I watched as they all walked to their respective assigned areas as Blaze headed my way.“Have you seen Haven today?” I asked him, more curious to see what his answer would be than anything. After my little charade with her earlier, I was truly wondering just who else she had under her spel
Chapter 13 It was getting close to nightfall, and I had previously mind linked Atreyu to inquire about Roxy. She was currently at a diner just by my house and she was alone. I decided to pop in and check on her myself. I, of course, wouldn’t make it seem like I was following her. Instead, I would make it seem like I had randomly just bumped into her. Axel came to life at the thought of seeing his chosen mate again, and honestly my mind could use the distraction. I materialized a block away from the diner planning to walk in nonchalantly. I was going back and forth in my mind trying to figure out the perfect way to act like we just ran into each other and not give away the fact that I was indeed following her. I had to push Axel into the back of my mind because his internal dialogue was driving me mad. I wouldn’t have been able to keep up my charade with his insistent howling anyway. I got to the door and opened it. I could see Roxy sitting in the far booth. I could only see her
