Rose

She woke up in the middle of the night. She felt the craving to eat something. Her gaze rested on her husband. She couldn't take her eyes off him. He was so handsome, so strong. Her fingers itched to slither through his dark silky hair. She shook her head with crimson cheeks.

Her hunger was pushing her to get up. She put her feet down and paced out of the room. Her feet halted when she saw Vanessa Hudgens standing out of the door.

She narrowed her eyes at her, and her smile faded. She closed the door behind her, softly, "What are you doing out of our room?" She asked in irritation. She didn't like her.

"It's my duty to protect you, ma'am," Vanessa said in her robotic voice.

Would that! I could find a button to switch off you. - she thought.

She began to pace toward the staircase, "I'm with my husband. I don't need you. Shoo," She gestured with her hand to go her away.

"Sorry, ma'am. Boss has strictly asked staff to follow his order," She said.

She whirled, still glaring at her. Her forehead scowled, "Just disappear. Or I'll tie your mouth, hands, and feet and lock you in the cupboard." She threatened her.

Vanessa's eyes widened. But she hid her fear by clearing her throat and looking around.

She twirled and climbed down the stairs. Her smirk was broad on her face. She didn't try to hide it. Her false threat worked.

Her pace slowed when she saw Danil in the hall, sitting on the couch. His feet were placed on the coffee table, the laptop rested on his thighs. Her face lit up as she guessed from his smile who could be on the other side.

She scurried forward and stood behind the couch. Her hands gripped the side of the couch as she bent down with a full smile on her face.

"Rose! What are you doing out of your room at this time of the night," Isha looked fully shocked with her presence behind him.

"Hi," She waved her hand at the screen, " You didn't call me today." Her frown returned on her face.

Danil spun and glanced at her with creased brows, "Are you okay?" He asked, getting on his feet, still holding the laptop.

She flashed a full grin, "I'm hungry." She said and turned to the kitchen.

"I'll talk to you later," She heard him behind her.

She was glad that Vanessa wasn't following her. But her irritated look returned when she saw her on the other side of the counter.

"What do you like to eat?" She asked.

     "You!" She said in exasperation.

Danil laughed, "She's helping you, Rose."

"She goes everywhere, where I go. She's irritating. Very irritating." She snorted, sweeping her eyes around, "She doesn't leave me alone when I'm with my family, my husband." She grabbed a tomato and hurled it at her.

Danil laughed and caught it before it could hit on her face. He motioned at Vanessa to leave.

She bowed her head and walked out of the kitchen.

"She's here to protect you," Danil said and took out his phone. She hovered his thumbs over the display holding it between his hands.

"I hate that robot." She opened the refrigerator and peered in. She got confused.

"Rose, Liam will be soon downstairs to find you. You're not allowed to cook. Let me help you." He said.

"I'm hungry but I can't decide what I should eat." She lowered her head.

"You don't need to be disappointed. Pick one sweet or salty?" Angelina asked, walking into the kitchen hurriedly.

"Sweet," She smiled at her, "You can appoint her as my bodyguard." She told Danil.

They laughed, "It's impossible, Rose." She took the fruits out of the refrigerator. Instantly, she began to wash them.

Rose tiptoed and sat on the counter, "One week and she'll be here with us," She clapped her hands happily.

Danil smiled, "Does brother know?" He asked.

She shook her head, "You can go back to your laptop."

He shook his head, "Please, prepare it for me too, Angelina." He said.

"Yes, sir." She nodded, hurrying. When the fruits were washed she began to chop them.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping? I disturbed you." She asked Angelina.

" I was talking to Mil. When Danil sir messaged me. You didn't disturb me, Rose. You remind me of the days when I was pregnant." A small smile stretched on her lips. It made her forget her fear.

She wanted to ask a lot of questions but held herself because of Danil.

"Happy days end soon," Angelina muttered under her breath.

"Do you need anything? I can arrange." She said as she felt her sadness.

"I'm happy." She smiled, "I didn't expect I would say it after my husband's death. My baby girl is achieving her dreams. I'm content with my job and you came into my life like an angel. You took away all the sorrow."

She returned the smile. She was looking relieved to hear it, "I'm not an angel," She giggled.

"Are you expecting wings?" All heads turned to the doorway. Liam walked into the kitchen barefoot. He ran his hand in his hair and flashed a warm smile at his wife.

' You're my wings. ' But she only blushed, lowering her gaze.

Danil whispered something. He paid full attention and turned his gaze to her, giving him a full nod.

She smelled the air. She was cooking eggless fruit custard, "My mouth is watering." She told her.

Angelina smiled at her, between her stirring the custard, "Would you like to eat cooked sprouts in the morning?" She asked.

"Cooked sprouts? But I like them raw." She told him.

Angelina shook her head, "You're pregnant, Rose. You have to be careful what you eat. Cooked is good for you," She said.

She didn't know anything so she just nodded her head. She felt Liam's gaze on her. She couldn't raise her eyes to meet him in her nervousness.

She slipped off the counter and sauntered out of the kitchen. He held her wrist. Her heart began to beat in her ears. He curled his arm around her tugging her to his chest, "Shouldn't you wake me up?" He asked in a whisper.

She shook her head. Danil's phone began to ring. He excused himself.

She tried to pluck herself away from him. But his gaze stopped her.

"You were sleeping. I'm home, by the way." She said.

"Next time..." She cut him off.

"No, your guards can't follow me when I'm home." She said.

Her heart began to drum. She never cut him off. She dared to look up. He was smiling at her.

"Hm," He tugged her toward the couch.

His smile was still on. She couldn't hold back the shock she perceived.
