Chapter 40

Logan's POV

I stood there watching my men train hard each day for fear of their lives, a sense of guilt enveloped me.

As an alpha, I should be able to defend my people even in their sleep, but with the current situation, we both need to protect each other but still, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt. I somehow felt I had let them down.

“Alpha Logan”,” Alpha Logan”.

I heard a voice call through the haze of my thoughts, pulling me back to the present. "Alpha Logan," one of my guards called out, his tone respectful yet urgent.

I turned to face him, my brow furrowing with concern. "Yes, is there a problem?" I asked, my heart skipping a beat at the possibility of bad news.

The guard shook his head, his expression reassuring. "Not at all, Alpha. You have a guest"

"A guest?" I echoed, surprise flickering across my features. "Where is he?"

"He's in the waiting room, Alpha," the guard replied with a bow before stepping aside to let me pass.
