Chapter 24: When Our Kind Go Insane

Turning to Cynthia, I ask quietly as we rush down the hall, “Do you have any idea of how long he has been acting like this?”

She shakes her head and then cries out, “No, I was just in his room taking care of his clothes when suddenly he came at me.  His eyes had turned red and his face stone cold.  Then he started screaming at me to fetch you.  I didn’t know what else to do.”

On the verge of tears, her voice trails off and then I see the thin line of tears cascading down her cheeks.  I simply can’t have my people acting this way towards others in the castle.  Now, this may be a problem if he indeed has gone insane. 

When one of our kind loses their mind, we become unusually strong and quicker than we normally are.  It makes it virtually impossible to deal with them after that and we almost aways are forced to kill them because of it.  After all, when they go insane the only thing that sa
