Chapter 16 - A room for the night.

Libby POV

We are on the move again, pushing our way through the woods towards the direction of the road I had informed them of.

As soon as I emerged from the woods by the little camp set up with had made overnight, the first thing they asked was where I had been. I said I was looking for food, which was true, and had found a road. That was enough for now.

I had mixed emotions from seeing Pierce after all this time.

Anwir was now leading our group towards the road, myself and Beth in the middle with Ben on our rear. I don’t miss the number of times Ben checks behind only to look at me with a frown. He doesn’t know what he is sensing, but I do.

Pierce won’t do anything, I believe that, he just wants to see where we reach.

He also won’t know who Ben, Beth or Anwir are to have any need to confront them. He’s waiting for me to be alone again, which won’t be until this evening when the others are asleep.

When we reach the road, we follow until we come to the outskirts of a small village.
