I heard Dominic’s bloody screams as I walked closer to the room. That was not all I could hear. His fists pounded away at the locked door as he tried to escape the room. He was making a big scene out of something so simple, I thought to myself. I stood in front of the door and waited for him to stop.
“You’re making this complicated.” I told him in a unfazed tone. “You need to concentrate.”
“I fucking can’t!” He shouted. “I can’t do this while I’m damn near starving to death!”
“Then, I suggest you call on your vamp.”
“He won’t answer me!”
I leaned against the door and crossed my arms. I knew he was hungry, but this is part of the
Janelle was out for the remainder of the day, so I kept the bar open for her. Seth was with the pack, so of course, Kilan was with me. That was not a problem since Kilan had been clinging to me for the longest. As I made a drink for this one customer, I could not get Trinity off my mind. Seeing her unconscious like that really bothered me. It even had me rethink about having unprotected sex with Seth. I did not want to go through the same thing she went through. “You seem troubled,” the guy I was fixing the drink for, said to me.I looked up at him, smiling. He was a regular like Dante, so he could tell I was not in a talkative mood tonight.“Yeah, just in deep thought.” I told him as I handed him the drink he had ordered. “Let me know if you would like anything else.”
Two more days and we were going to be in New Orleans. We packed the house up slowly. Being in New Orleans could not come fast for me. I was ready to take the city back. Before we got out there, I needed to make a few calls to my family. I never told them that the family and I were headed that way. I closed the box up and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I scrolled through my contacts until I was able to find my brother, Liam’s number. My brother and I were close, but I never heard from him in a month. I dialed his number and placed the phone to my ear. It took a minute, but he finally answered.“I know that’s not Eric calling me,” He said, sounding shocked.“Ho
Friday finally came and I could never be any happier. Today, I was going to get my damn dream and that was to fight Grimm. Anubis came back and he was angry with me. Apparently, he was not ready to share with a vampire. “Anubis, I need this.” I whispered as I began doing push-ups in my room. “Cut me some slack, okay?”Anubis: I swear we are not going to get along. I can’t believe you want to wake this fucker up.I smiled to myself as I went back down to the ground for the 50th time. Right when I got up on my arms, the door to my room opened up. I lifted my head up and stared at my father and uncle who stood there, waiting for me. I got off the ground and walked over to the two, waiting for the instructions from one of them.
I was at work when I felt it. You know that one feeling when somebody close to you had died? It felt like a part of me was just torn; not complete at all. Like it would never be complete, ever again. I looked around the bar, trying to control the pain I felt. A broken heart is not a joke at all. I had never cried for anybody before, but this pain I felt in chest made me cave in. Erika was making one of the customer’s drinks when she turned my way. I wiped the tears from my eyes and continued working, not even glancing at her.“Are you okay?” She asked me.“I’m fine.” I said, defensively. She handed the customer his drink and turned back to me, placing her hands on her hips. I already knew he was going to bother me about it, so I decided to open up for the first time.
Dominic’s dead? It felt like a fucking brick sanked to the bottom of my stomach. I never thought my little brother would be dead. Aunt Nancy placed her hand on my shoulder and I turned to her. I looked around and seen that I was the only one standing with her. London ended up joining Dante and Janelle outside.“Don’t worry; it had to be done.” She told me.“Really?” I asked her. “I hope you didn’t think that vampires were alive.”“How does that work, though? Dead people walking among us is something we don’t believe.”“Now you know how the rest of the people in the world feel about us. They believe that we are all just myths.”
“What the hell happened?” Eric asked as he walked over to where we were sitting. “Your grandkids.” Seth told him. “They did a number on her while she was pregnant with them.” “Those aren’t mines.” Eric said. &n
Grimm and I moved Dominic’s body to his room. We laid his bloody body onto the bed, softly. I made sure his neck was placed perfectly for the transformation. I walked over to my son’s deceased body and grabbed his arm, placing it close to my mouth. Dominic’s vampirism was stubborn as hell. I never though I would had to kill my own flesh and blood. “This one needs more than my venom in him.” I said to Grimm. Gri
Things were happening for a reason. First Trinity is out for the count and now something happened to Dominic. What else could go wrong? Kilan and I had a fun day today since Seth told me to take him somewhere. We made it to the house around 8pm, past Kilan’s bedtime. Kilan rested against my chest as I carried him to his room. I removed his shoes and socks from his feet and laid him down on his bed. I covered him with the blanket and planted a kiss on his cheek before I walked out of his room, slightly closing the door. As I walked away from his door, my phone rang in my pocket. I grabbed the phone and seen Seth’s name flashing on my screen. I answe
