Chapter 4

Alvaria’s Point Of View.

A loud ground Shaking growl suddenly filled the entire atmosphere as Damien and I’s attention went back to the strange vampire beside us in pure shock.

Since when do vampires growl?

I was just about to ask what the hell was going on when I suddenly felt a looming darkness around us followed by the abrupt appearance of a disfigured wolf-like shadow.

I immediately went closer to Damien on instinct as I watched the vampire’s eyes turn a deep shade of black all over as he growled and got possessed by the shadow wolf.

“This sh*t is getting way too weird …run!”

Damien and I tried to escape the possessed vampire only for the circle of fire to grow hotter and inch closer to us. We were trapped and destined to burn to death with the wolf-like vampire who looked more than ready to feast on our flesh.

“Listen here ,vampy…you better not try anything stupid because we have way bigger things to deal with. We will get to you later ,now we have a common and immediate danger to deal with,”

I couldn’t practically hear the loud banging of my heart within my ribcage as I struggled to contain my panic at the thought of burning alive .

I was busy trying to rack my brain for a spell or any idea of what to do in order to escape when I suddenly heard sounds of loud huffing and puffing.

My eyes slowly went from Damien to the strange wolf-like vampire who was now huffing and puffing in anger.

I could practically see the animalistic wolf-like shadow right by his side as he dug his legs on the ground just as the shadow wolf dug his paws.

As a werewolf myself I knew exactly what the shadow wolf was preparing to do…he was about to charge right at us.

The fire was slowly getting closer and closer towards us and limited the space within the circle.

Damien launched for wolf possessed vampire when

“Ahhh!”

The vampire dodged his attack and sent Damien shoulder first into the fire before he screamed in pain and he did the routine stop ,drop and roll in pain.

With no other choice I positioned myself right In front of the possessed vampire and prepared myself for his attack.

I could feel the vibrations of his growl as I watched in pure awe as a vampire radiated a dark and powerful werewolf-like aura .

I waited for the attack to come but the vampire just maintained his fighting stance.

I felt a light sensation hit my cheeks as my head went up into the sky at the exact moment that my hand touched the area to see it was watery…it was a raindrop.

The possessed vampire growled once more as the sound of thunder and lightning mixed with his growl followed by a gush of spontaneous rain.

I couldn’t believe my eyes as I stood there in complete and utter amazement watching the vampire command the elements.

He commanded the rain and it came…a vampire used the oldest and most complex witch spell and it worked, all while possessed by a werewolf.

A witch’s tears was a spell only performed by pure blooded witches and took years to master ,yet here he was…a vampire , using a witch’s tears to command rain to fall.

The circle of fire did not last any longer as the rain washed it all away in a magical and raw display of power.

I was by Damien’s side in an instance as I helped him up into his feet in hopes of maybe escaping so we can live to fight another day or at least run to make sure Freya was safe throughout all of this.

“So you sent your alpha to come and fight your battle’s huh…it doesn’t matter. Hand over the book before I unleash my burning anger upon you,”

The witches' words were filled with rage as her eyes literally flared up with smoke. I could barely catch up with everything that was going on as the shadow like wolf zipped behind us followed by a loud scream.

*Snap*

My anxiety was at an all time high as I slowly turned around to look at a witches dead body laying on the ground. She was going to ambush us from behind and the shadow actually saved our lives, but why ?

The vampire launched at the fire wolf and tackled her to the ground just as she sent a large fireball our way.

I pushed Damien out of the way out of instinct and froze in place as I awaited the impact.

I stood there for a few seconds just dreading my painful and fiery death when nothing came.

Slowly peeking through and opening my eyes one after the other I saw the fire ball right on my palms as I instinctively held it back on reflex.

I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched the burning and flaming fireball filled with raw power right on my palms.

The more I looked the more I felt it burning away at my skin and I just knew that I couldn’t hold it back any longer.

The fire witch slowly made her way back to her feet and I took that as my opportunity to unleash my own anger and frustration.

Hear me as I speak and heed my words. Find your owner and unleash your wrath upon you. Back to the sender you go.**

The spell left my mouth just as I pushed the fire ball out of my hands in one fluid motion. I just stood there struggling for breath as I watched it hit the fire witch in the stomach and burn right through her flesh as she wailed and screamed in pain.

My eyes met with the highly in demand book that everyone seemed to want as it laid on the ground near the vampire.

I picked it up without any second as I struggled to maintain its raw power within my hands. I could feel all of the magic radiating off of it in bulks but I still held onto tight.

His eyes met mine just as I took hold of the book before he attempted to pry it out of my hands.

“Hand it over , Hunter…this is none of your concern,”

I could hear the underlying threat within his words but I didn’t care.

“No! This seems to be the reason for all of this bloodshed and carnage. Why did you kill all of those people on the bus huh? Who are all these people after you and why do they want the book? Speak now or I’ll set this thing ablaze,”

I was not just threatening to set the book on fire but I had already made up my mind to do so. I could feel the raw power and magic around it . I couldn’t tell just how much of a dangerous artifact it was and that meant I had to get rid of it for good. No one deserves to wield such great power, especially not monsters.

“The book is enchanted…it can’t burn or physically get damaged, it protects itself so ease up with all of the threats. Hand the book back to me ,blood clocks its power and makes it harder for monsters to track it. More monsters are coming for it and some are already around the forest just like the one that burnt up the bus full of humans just to get the book. You have no idea what you are messing with doll face…now hand it over ,”

“We have to find Freya,”

Damien and I sped off running towards Freya’s scent with the strange vampire right behind us.

Finding Freya was easier than extended and luckily for us we did not find any trouble on the way .

“Whoa there …breathe guys. The two of you look like hell ,what happened? Did you take care of the monster?”

I could barely bring myself to form a full sentence as I tried explaining what happened to Freya. Damien’s eyes were fully focused on her just giving her a thorough once over to make sure she was fine and not injured. He was more than overprotective of us and that showed in his actions.

“Vampire, doll face ,bang ,aww ,witch ,attack ,fire , burning, shadow wolf ,more aww , witch tears, vampire wolf ,more ouch ,book ,run ,”

I tried narrating the short summary of what I could make sense of from our experience but Freya did not seem to get what I was trying to explain and neither did I.

“Ummm ok then, we can talk about this later. Let’s just get out of here,”

The traumatized burn victim we saved earlier suddenly turned around and her eyes zeroed in on the book in my hand. For a moment I thought maybe what I was seeing in her eyes was recognition and a trauma response from everything she went through in the bus.

I thought that she was scared of the book because of how the bus passengers died but I soon realized that she looked at the book the same way the witches looked at it.

“Give me the book,”

The strange vampire showed up right as the words left the woman’s mouth and forced all of us in our fighting stance.

“Ahhh!”

Freya sent us flying back first to the trees behind us to push us away and protect us from the woman breathing fire our way.

“I’ll take care of this,”

Freya immediately held out her hand and sent the woman flying back as the two proceeded to fight one another in some hand to hand combat and that was all I could see as I blacked out from the pain.

……….

The metallic scent of blood welcomed me back into consciousness before anything else just as I opened my eyes. Freya was laying flat on her stomach as the angry woman constantly kicked at him with a blank look on her face. Freya struggled to get up off the floor and I honestly didn’t know what to do as my pain kept me grounded to the floor unable to move.

I jerked back in pain and held on to my stomach as I struggled to get right back onto my feet to defend my friend from the crazed b*tch.

“Wake the f*CK up Damien. Don’t just lay there and stay useless, you idiot. We can take this b*tch on now get on your feet!”

I was beyond livid at seeing Freya so beaten up and struggling to fight back against the raging b*tch.

Damien’s head raised up to look at my definitely pissed off face and I looked directly at his bloody face with more than anger on my face just as the strange vampire behind him got back onto his feet.

The forest was filled with the sounds of my best friend whimpering in pain as she struggled to fight back against her.

I was on my feet chanting a spell to blast the woman away when everything just stopped. Till this day I do not think that anyone can explain the level of mastery that Freya showed as she fought back the witch.

She kicked the witch and tripped her down before finally standing back up. Damien sped over to the scene and grabbed the bloody witch up by her neck .

It all happened so fast some might have missed it. With one fluid swift movement the witch screamed in pain right as blood gushed out her neck and she stopped moving as death welcomed her.

Freya just stood right In front of her with the bloody danger in her hand dripping with the witch’s blood.

The witches dead body hit the floor in one loud thud just as Damien let go of it to wrap his arms around the shaken up Freya as she still held onto the bloody dagger for dear life.

I made my way towards the to join in the hug when something caught my attention…movement.

“Ahhh,”

I screamed in pain as I hit the ground in one swift motion. The vampire was right on top of me as all the warning bells went off in my head.

The witch was right back to her feet as if nothing happened and the bloody cut across her neck was no more. For some reason the vampire saved my life and protected me from the fire breath the witch sent my way but I did not have much time to dwell on that as I witnessed the most horrifying thing I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life….the witch was shifting into some sort of disfigured monstrosity.

We all watched the monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature forming In front of us in complete shock and bewilderment. It was hard to even figure out what the hell the thing was as it grew different body parts from different species. For lack of a better explanation I would say it was a dragon lion or some weird sh*t like that.

My eyes slowly went down its disfigured body as I examined the beastly lion, with the head of a goat protruding from its back, and a tail that ends with a snake’s head.

“What the f*CK is that?”

The strange vampire seemed to be the only one to know what the creature was yet him telling us the creature’s name still did little to help me recognize it or ease my panic.

“It’s a chimera…”
