Chapter 56 ~ I messed up

“Where is that question coming from?” Arthur sat up slightly while Kiana was still lying on his chest.

After she had gotten in the cab, Kiana’s mind kept going back and forth to the conversation she had with Joshua. A part of her wondered if what he said had some sort of truth.

She had hoped the sex would distract her from it but the distraction only lasted for a few minutes until Kiana began to feel the knot form in her stomach once again.

Her heart raced, and a wave of unease washed over her. She couldn't shake the feeling of dread that what had been said about Arthur might be true.

‘What will I do if it turns out to be true?’ The thought hit her as she felt her mind racing with questions and doubt.

After going through so much betrayal by the people she loved and trusted, she couldn’t handle another heart break. She wanted to trust him, to believe in him, but the seed of doubt had been planted, and it was growing. She felt torn, unsure of what to believe, unsure of who to trust
