Chapter Ninety Four

Lucas's grasp on the steering wheel constricted even more, his knuckles turning white. He cast a glance at Emma through the rearview mirror, his brow contorted with anxiety. "Emma, I... I'm unsure if that's the wise decision," he faltered, his words wavering.

Emma's jaw tightened as she met Lucas's stare in the mirror. "She deserves a chance at a genuine family since I destroyed the one she had," she retorted, her voice sharp and straightforward.

Lucas halted the car and asked her to sit in the front seat, beside him. Emma hesitated but agreed, and as soon as she settled beside him, he began to drive, about to speak before Emma dropped another bombshell. "And... I think I might be pregnant."

The car swerved slightly as Lucas abruptly hit the brakes, bringing it to a sudden stop. He turned to look at Emma, his eyes wide with shock. "What?" he exclaimed.

"Pregnant?" Lucas asked once again.

"I'm not certain," Emma admitted, her gaze darting everywhere but at him. "I've missed two of
