Chapter Eighty Three

The ache in Emma's legs caused her to groan as she shifted on the bed's soft sheets. The pain was a reminder of their passionate lovemaking, a memory she welcomed, even as she winced and adjusted her position.

Lucas's voice broke through her thoughts, soft and comforting. "Come, let me ease your discomfort," he whispered, drawing her closer with his gentle touch on her waist. Shivers ran down her spine at his proximity, momentarily distracting her from the dull ache.
