BlueOh, do I want to drive Artemis crazy with a story painting him as a crazy stalker. Which is completely true, but I also don't want his family to use our rocky start against us. As much as I would enjoy seeing him sweat, I’m too nice to do that to him. So I did my best to come up with a plausible story which wasn’t easy given we have only known each other for a day.“Yes, Artemis I had no idea my son would chase after a girl in such a way. I thought you despised social media.” His mother said in what I assume was meant to be in a friendly teasing way but her acting isn’t that good.“For the right girl, a man will do anything.” Is how he replies before turning to me and leaning in to press a kiss to my temple. The damn guy is trying to get me flustered in front of his family. No doubt for painting him as a romantic when he basically offered to buy me when we first met. The reminder of that makes me want to slug him in the leg and make it cramp up! I don’t do that though. Nope, I sm
ArtemisSomething was wrong with Blue, and it had me worried. She seemed alright up until now and then it was like a flip switched and she looked…off. I was about to go with her to make sure she was okay but thought better of it. Maybe she didn’t want me to get involved or it was something she would rather talk to another woman about. So I let her go.“Artemis have you lost your mind? What are thinking picking a girl like that?” My mother starts in as soon as Blue is gone.“What’s wrong with her?” I ask as if I don’t know what she’s talking about. In reality, I know exactly where this conversation is going to go.“She looks like something you pick up on a street corner.” She hisses at me before glancing around to make sure no one hears her insult my fiancé.My eyes snap at her and I let all the anger I’m feeling show. “Do not speak about her that way.”I keep my voice low but threatening.“If you speak about my fiancé that way again-“My father slams his hand on the table making the p
BlueThis is another day I wish would finally end.Not only did the lunch with Artemis end on a bad note but I had a panic attack in the bathroom. Thank god I made it there before it happened. For a second I thought I had passed but hearing all the things those women were saying had sent me over the edge so fast that I couldn’t even catch my breath.I hate that I sent Rhea into a panic, but I couldn’t breathe let alone tell her what was happening or that it would pass. She brought Artemis to me hoping he could help, but he has no idea how to. It was a sweet gesture but it reminded me that this role I’m playing is just that…a role. This person isn’t me. Why did I agree to this? Artemis should have chosen someone else. Someone who fits with him even just a little bit.Still, he was nice enough to take me straight to the car instead of back to that terrible lunch. Unfortunately, I hadn’t had a chance to eat and hadn’t eaten since lunch yesterday, so my stomach made sure that fact was kno
ArtemisDid she just say…“What did you just say?” I ask in the calmest voice I can muster.“I said we aren’t married yet.” She says again but she leaves off the part where she said she can change her mind. She won’t be changing her mind. She agreed and I won’t let her run away.“We will be married Blue and you will become Blue Rhodes. End of story!” I stand and walk toward the bedroom.“You can’t demand things and walk off Artemis! I’m not one of your employees and I recall all of us have free will!” She yells from behind me.The back of my neck starts to itch the more angry I get and after dealing with this anger all day I can’t stop what’s coming.“You will be my wife Blue! I can demand anything I want from you!” I yell at her.She doesn’t shrink back or flinch when I yell at her which is odd but I’m too angry to care about that right now.“Will be Artemis. Not yet and if you continue this alpha male crap then marriage is the last thing that will happen between us. I’ll leave and y
Blue“This thing is amazing!”I’ve been fiddling with this new phone for an hour now trying to figure out all the things I can do.“It’s nothing unusual. Most phones can do the same things.” Artemis says casually.I throw him a look over my shoulder but his eyes are focused on the TV. He’s so focused on it that you would think the guy has never watched TV before. The fact that everyone says his work is his life, I could see that being true.“It’s unusual for me. You sound like a snob.” I fire back before returning my attention to the amazing little tech in my hand. It’s a lot bigger than the one I used to have so holding it feels odd, but the screen is really big. To mess with Artemis I searched for him on the browser and found a video interview of him. Of course, I watched the whole thing with him sitting next to me and I laughed several times. He looked like an emotionless robot and still the interviewer looked at him like the prince she’s been waiting her whole life to find. Artemi
ArtemisSeeing Blue run the way she did and hearing her get sick sent me into a panic. For a second I thought there was something with the food but we ate the same thing and I’m fine. I don’t know what to do. I’ve never taken care of someone before. Do I call a doctor? Does she need medicine? What brought this on?I have so many questions that Blue is in no position to answer right now.Feeling ridiculous but needing help I quickly text Max.Me: Blue just got sick and ran to the bathroom. What do I do?Max: go after her and make sure she’s okay!!Right.Max: make sure to check out her head and eyes. If she looks out of it and is pale then she needs to be checked out.Okay. Feel her temperature and make sure she isn’t pale. With this information, I head for the bathroom and call out for her. She doesn’t say anything but I see her leaning heavily on the toilet. That can’t be good. I move over and crouch beside her to check her. When I brush a finger along her cheek she flinches back fro
Blue“Good Morning!” The sound of a voice has me startling awake. My heart races and sends me scrambling to sit up. I blink a few times to see Rhea standing in our room…again.“Dammit, Rhea! Have you ever heard of personal space?” Artemis growls.Rhea just laughs and walks around to my side of the bed and climbs on to sit next to me.Okay then…“Morning my lovely soon-to-be sister-in-law! Ready for wedding planning?” She asks giving me an eager smile.“What?”“We have three days to plan and that means there is no time to waste! So get your butt up and let’s do this thing! Oh, and you guys have a package.” She stands and saunters out of the room like she didn’t just burst in here.“I swear I’m not above murdering her,” Artemis grumbles.I snort a laugh and playfully smack his arm. “You wouldn’t. Besides she’s the only one in your family who seems to like me. You can’t kill my only ally.”That seems to get his attention because he rolls over to face me. “I’m not your ally?”“I mean, are
BlueRhea and I are on our feet in an instant and being ushered out of the room as quickly as our feet can carry us. “What happened?” I ask as we’re being herded toward the emergency stairs. “There’s been a breech or unknown intent.” He says as if that clears everything up. “Okay, what does that mean?” I ask. Dane is waiting for us at the stairs and holds the door open for us. Several other people are rushing down the stairs as well. Is this a possible fire situation? Why else would everyone be trying to exit by way of the emergency stairs? Bryant moves ahead of us, and Dane takes the back and tries to create an area of protection around us. Rhea seems calm but she reaches out from behind me and slips her hand in mine. I hold it tight to try and reassure her, but I’m secretly panicking too. After the stuff I’ve experienced I’m a little paranoid. We make it outside where a crowd is forming outside of the building. Everyone is looking at the building as if their waiting for somethi
