I stood in front of Kim's door with a bottle of wine and a bag of Chinese food in my hands. I didn't tell her that I was coming over nor did I tell her when I would arrive from my trip. Regardless of that, I hoped that this visit would not inconvenience her in any way. 

I rang the doorbell and waited nervously. It was already past 9pm and I figured that she must have been sleeping or preparing for bed. After a few minutes, the door opened and Kim stepped out. She was in a long, light pink rob and her hair fell down her right shoulder in thick, wet waves.

Her eyes widened at the sight of me. "Oliver," she said with an amused smile. "You should've warned me. I'm just from taking a shower."

"Surprise?" I said, more like asked, with a chuckle and her eyes dropped to the bottle of wine and the food in my hands. "I hope you haven't eaten yet."
