Chapter 18

We sat down in my office; annoyance was written all over my face. I hate when Alpha’s come by unannounced. I wanted to go back to my mate. The whole conversation I had the feeling he was stalling.

“Why do you think he is really here?” I asked Carson through the mind link.

“No idea, there are no wars brewing. As far as I know. He’s stalling,” Carson replied.

I was glad he noticed it as well. I thought maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me. Alpha Smith kept talking about small pack matters, those that are not any of my concerns.

I lifted my hand up, signaling to stop talking. “Why are you here?” I said with a small growl vibrating through my chest. My patience has its limits

Alpha Smith cleared his throat, trying to hide something. His discomfort or was it something else. He looked to Carson and then back to. Me before continuing, “it has come to my attention that you have someone here…” his eyes roamed the room once more before his nose tried to pick up a scent.
