Somewhere down the line, I had switched from the ancient book to a romance book, because as educative as it was, I was tired of seeing big words that I had to look at twice to grasp the meaning of.

My body became still from being in one position for too long, and I stretched. When I did, my eyes widened as I saw how dark the sky had turned.

I checked the time on my phone.

“Shit,” I muttered.

7:35.

The rain had reduced to slight drizzling so I quickly peeled the comforter off my body and stood up from where I'd perched myself on the couch all day.

“Sorry, couch,” I said, knowing that I must have dented it with my weight.

I had planned to have a long bath tonight with rose petals, scented candles and wine, but I was already late enough as it was.

A smile crept up on my cheeks as I thought of doing that with Ares some other time.
