CHAPTER 69

Lily's POV

I love you.

Marcus's words sent a million daggers to my heart. I wanted to scream out but that would put me in a position I would not want to find myself.

Why would Marcus love me? Why?

After his confession, he lingered for a while before he left. As soon as he stepped out, I sprang up from my bed.

“I have to leave Mistwood Creek tonight,” I murmured to myself.

How would I evade his guards? I'll need help.

If Marcus could confess his love to me, then there was no stopping what he could do just to have me by his side. But that would only put my kids and me up for more danger.

There was a time when I wished for death, but that time was far gone. Now all I wanted was to live and bear my kids.

Marcus should not confuse his obsession with love.

I felt so exhausted that I crouched down on my bed and began to sob silently.

“Mother, what should I do?” I asked in between sobs.

Of Course, there would be no response. Mother was dead. Father was dead too.
