Bianca felt as if the world had just stopped at that point in time. Panic welled all through her body! Her eyes searched the whole room, she soon kept opening the wardrobe and cupboard just in case the little girl was hiding around.
She moved close to the window and to her relief she noticed Anna sauntering towards the gate. She was already dressed in a pink gown and a flowery ribbon as she clutched on her little doll. Anna couldn't afford to be sacked on the first day of her job. She had been in charge of the little girl just a few minutes ago and now she was already losing Anna from her sight. She ran downstairs as Ms. Kevin emerged from behind. “Anna?” Bianca called, moving to hug her tightly. “Where do you think you are going to go? I mean the world outside is dangerous, baby!” Bianca muttered to the girl who kept describing things with her hand. “She wants to go to the hospital to see her mother,” Ms. Kevin explained, making Bianca clasps Anna's tiny hands into her huge ones. “I thought her mother was late, Nanny?” Bianca asked Ms. Kevin. “Anna was together with her mother when the accident happened, the accident had affected her, she thinks her mother isn't dead yet and she still expects her mother to come back to her every single day!” Ms. Kevin explained, fiddling with her wrinkled hands. “The doctor says she will heal but she needs all the love and care to come out of such trauma! Perhaps they mean she was shocked by the incident,” Nanny explained more, making Bianca nod affirmatively. Bianca bent down to Anna's level. “Ice cream treat, let‘s get you some ice cream,” she said, making the girl nod with a grin. **********************************"Thank you, Mr. Finn!" Two men in suits said. "Alright, I would send you the names of the entrepreneurs we would be sending over!" Felix said to his investors. "Alright! We would await the names, bye." The investors said before leaving. Felix turned before glaring at his secretary. "Sir, your daughter Fiona called a while ago. She wanted to remind you that her school parent meeting in her school would be held tomorrow!" His secretary said. "Fine!" Felix said turning to leave but halted at his secretary's next speech. "But you also have a meeting tomorrow by nine!" His secretary muttered. Felix sighed before staring into space for a few minutes. "Cancel my appointment tomorrow so I can attend Fiona's school!" He said before walking into his office. Felix rubbed his temple and ruffled his hair before groaning aloud the minutes he got to his office. He had many files to sort out and a company meeting to attend later in the day but he wasn't focusing, he had been on his desk for hours. He looked at the family picture plunged on his table, they all had a smile plastered to their face. They all looked happy like every complete family but all that was shattered by death, death had taken the woman he loved and the mother of his lovely kids. His gaze flickered to the expensive watch wrapped around his wrist. Seven hours to be exact, he stared at his best friend who had entered his office and was sitting opposite him. His friend has been talking for a while now but all Felix's attention wasn't on what he was saying, rather all his thought was wandering around that lady with dirty brown hair. What was she doing right now? Had she met Fiona and Hunter? Would she be okay taking care of Anna? He almost cursed out loud with frustration. Felix cared so much for his children and wouldn't want anything that would hurt them. That was the main reason he had sacked other maids and had refused to hire anyone not until his mother and his best friend here had made him change his mind. Even with much doubt about this new Maid he had nothing else to do, he had already hired her, and there was no going back on his words. How could he leave his children in the hands of someone he didn't know of her background? He was always doing a background check to be on the safer side. He knew Ms. Kevin was too old to protect herself or the children which made him curse out. “What is going on with you buddy? The company hasn't been doing so well since Lisa died, you don't even look like you are bothered one bit!” David said, his hand waving at Felix's face as he spoke.“Don't forget that this company didn't do anything that caused you any personal pain, this is business! Why don't you leave all personal things aside?” David said but Felix only smirked as he stared at his Best Friend. “I have money, I can just cover up any issue the company is facing, I have another company, hotel, speak to me about something else,” Felix boosted out. He knew David was only trying to make him feel bad for neglecting work but with the problem and issues going on in the company it was something small that David couldn't handle in a blink of an eye. Felix and his best friend had partnered their business together even with the long age gap, their friendship was nearly perfect. David sat down dressed in a casual outfit, the one that didn't signify that he was coming to an office. “Who said I was doing this personally?” Felix asked as the door of his office plunged open showing his Secretary who dropped two cups of coffee before leaving. “Well, look at you! You look miserable, you should quit drinking and focus more on your daughters or rather go on a blind date!” David advised as he sipped from his coffee. “According to chemistry. Alcohol is a solution and for blind dates, I don't think it is possible!” Felix said, sipping from his coffee. “Alcohol won't solve your problem, Felix. Trust me and try going on a blind date, wouldn't it be nice to sit at the dinner table with your wife and kids while enjoying a good food prepared by your wife?” David said, wiggling his head.Hector tried to defend himself but he was pinned to what to say. “Don't argue with me. You have to move on Felix, for you and for your kids!” David said, sipping from the coffee."I'm not interested in getting married and I have no time for blind dates because I'm busy enough with work!" Felix said. “Alright If you say so! The meeting will commence soon, you need to strive, I know it isn't easy for you but Felix trusts me when I say you need to act more like yourself!” David said standing up from his seat but Felix stopped him before he could leave. “My mom got a maid for the kids, she came in this morning,” Felix said as a wide grin appeared on David's face. “That's great news, at least some progress in the family! Your mind can be at rest because you have someone to watch over the kids when you are here,” David explained, Felix nodded in agreement. The sound of a phone bopping was heard! David looked at his phone. “I have a date with Hannah, I wouldn't want to keep her waiting, I trust you with the board meeting! We will talk later,” David said standing up from his seat. Felix stood up as they side hugged. “Tell Hannah I said hi, ” Felix said, earning a nod from David. David walked out of the office as Felix plunged on his seat before breathing heavily.Felix shoved the table backward as his chair slid close to the window. He spun his chair playfully until he was facing the window view, he stared at the beautiful and busy streets of New york. He noticed some beggars trying to earn a decent living without trying to steal. The sky looked a bit dark and cloudy like it would rain anytime soon. He turned back to his desk before looking at all the workload he had, he had worked hard for his company but things weren't going the way he wanted. He felt like he needed to pay for his sins, he was keeping a secret that he hadn't told anybody. Yes! His wife was someone he never expected that she would die soon and that had put him down but something else was weighing him more. He knew he wasn't going to pay for his sins on earth but in the hereafter, he knew he was going to hell. He knew he was never going to be forgiving but would the person he had sinned against forgive him for such a crime he had committed? Getting up from his seat, Felix b
Felix was back from a successful board meeting ever since the death of his wife. It wasn't the best board meeting he had attended but better than the ones he had conducted for two years, he walked to his office to drop off some files when he noticed the envelope His secretary had promised to drop. Growling in both frustration and tiredness. Felix stuck the envelope inside his suitcase before striding to turn off the light, everywhere had gone dark and everyone was going home already. Felix took in some breaths before sauntering into the elevator. It was time to go back home! There was much time to check the envelope to see if Miss Ferguson had any hidden secret. His car was waiting for him in front of his company's building when he stepped out of the existing door. The guard nodded at him which he returned with a simple wave. Felix slipped into the back of his car before sinking into the chair, he was tired and needed some sleep but could he even do that? “Home, please Fabian,” he
Felix entered his room before switching on the light. He stared at his bed as a memory of him coming back home tired and exhausted from work filled his memory. His wife who seems dressed in her skimpy nightwear tends to remove all stress. He ruffled his hair before pulling out his tie. A smile plastered on his face when he remembered his daughter's smiling a while ago, Felix could barely remember the last time he spent time with his kids, just like what he had seen Anna doing with Bianca. Reality hit him hard like he was being punched in the face. His daughter was three years old when everything had happened and his eldest daughter was thirteen, his son was fifteen but it still felt like yesterday when everything happened. Anna had always had bad dreams at night and wouldn't let anybody hold her, she only wanted her mother at that point in time but after a year she had allowed him to hug her again when she had bad nightmares.Felix dropped his briefcase beside his bed before plumpi
The sunlight cast itself on Bianca's face through the curtain which drew her from her sleep, groaning loudly. Her eyes lit up as she stood up before stretching her body. She stared at the floor she was laying on to notice Anna beside her. How did she get here? She pulled the duvet over the sleeping Anna. Bianca tried to remember what she was dreaming about but after thinking deeply she had lost everything after she woke up. This was the first time Bianca was sleeping peacefully without people coming at her for their debt or her landlord disrupting her sleep for their late payment of house rent. The night had been nice. She moved downstairs to notice Felix and Fiona having breakfast, “Good morning sir, ” she mumbled before entering the kitchen to help Ms. Kevin out. “First time, I mean Anna hasn't slept this well for a long time,” Ms. Kevin let out, switching off the cooker. “Morning Nanny but I don't think it's because of me, maybe she had been neglected that's why she felt alone, ”
Bianca stared at Felix before staring back at Anna. “We have a contract to sign today, ” he let out again, making her nod. *********An hour later, Bianca was dressed in a fancy gown with her hair tied in a ponytail and flat shoes to go. It was the first time she was setting foot out of the wealthy home of her boss. She noticed that Felix enjoyed having full security in his house, and most especially privacy. Bianca likes staying with Anna but she wished she had someone to talk to always, not like staying with the five-year-old was boring but she needed someone to share her problems with. She moved outside the huge gate as the breeze slammed her exposed skin. She strode to the main highway so she could board a taxi to take her into town. She stopped the taxi before sliding in, “where to Mam?” the taxi driver asked. “Town,” she mumbled, making him nod before putting the engine to life.Throughout the ride, exhaustion filled Bianca's body. She was meeting her Crush of twenty years,
“I’m sorry Jasper. This was supposed to be some celebration but you know how I tend to get emotional quickly, ” she let out pulling her hand from his grip. She could feel the cracks in her voice but she needed to drop the sympathy that was building up.“Thank you for the meal, I better get going, Jasper! My boss is like some strict soldier and quite grumpy,” she let out standing up. “But we haven't caught up enough?” Jasper let out with a pale face. “We can see each other again, meanwhile you did mention that you work here,” she let out, making him nod. “I can drop you off?” he offered but Bianca wiggled her head, she wouldn't want her boss to think the worst of her. “No Jasper, I would be fine! I would call you when I get home,” Bianca muttered out, she hurried out of the building before Jasper could stop her. Bianca soon mingled herself among the busy people trying to get to work or doing every possible best to earn a living. For a while, she needed to be alone and away from real
It has been a week since that incident but Felix could feel all of Bianca's face clouding his brain and thought. He felt that touch clasping into his body and memory which made him not to forget every single detail. Instantly, Felix felt guilt all over again, he knew Bianca was being nothing but an excellent worker but he couldn't stop this thought from tripping in.His thought wandered back to the reaction she gave towards him a week ago. FLASHBACK“Are you okay? I mean you caught me before I could fall off, thank you so much, sir. I did fall on you heavily, are you hurt?” Bianca asked him with care all over her voice, Felix didn't want to be the only one noticing the care she was given but he couldn't help it. He noticed the fallen hair in front of her eye and he wished he could push that hair behind her ear. “I’m fine, thank God you had no injuries,” Felix let out rolling his eyes. He strode towards her before lifting her chin so she could meet his gaze.He knew that was unusual.
After that incident where Bianca's employer helped her out in the kitchen. She had barely laid eyes on him for more than a second, he left early after sharing breakfast with his kids and returned only when she had fallen asleep. Bianca had felt like she was the spur cause of his behavior. She had scared him out with her problems! Bianca would put Anna to sleep with some bedtime stories until the little girl ends up holding her tightly. After the poor child had fallen deeply to sleep she would slip out to her room not to cause any embarrassment. Once scolded is already enough for Bianca to repeat such a mistake twice. Yet, she felt Felix was going to talk to her soon about her erroneous ways. she felt embarrassed by her behavior and she knew soon enough they would have a conversation, they hadn't even signed the contract yet because he seemed like he was avoiding her.She knew she wasn't hallucinating. Wait, she was out of her mind if she thought her boss was doing exactly that. It w
