"Juliet!" Her parents wail in heavy breaths at what just happened and place their hands over their mouths. They scramble to Lucien with eyes so gloomy that he would have dropped dead if they happened to be revolvers. Her dad jerks away Juliet from his grip without an utterance and glares at him.
The brows of the attendees rise as they stare keenly to know what will happen next so that they can have something to murmur about.
"I mean no harm, Mr. Santiago. I just came to take back what rightfully belongs to me." Lucien says and smiles up at him not flinching a bit even though he could see how gravely they are glaring at him.
If there's one thing he's learned over the years in the training ground that'll be to never be afraid of anything confronting him cause there'll always be a way out.
Mr. Santiago as he called him stares at him from head to toe and strolls out with Juliet in his arms without saying anything or even acting like he could see anyone.
"You caused this asshole!" Mr. Santiago's wife, Mrs. Avery screeches at him and begins hitting him on the chest. "You wretched fool! You good for nothing! Leave my daughter alone! Get away as you did before! Leave! We hate you! You reek of poverty sod! Just go! Shuu!" She curses him hoping to get a reaction from him but to her amazement and utmost disbelief he pats her on the shoulders and pecks her on the cheek.
"Not even you can stop me from taking back what belongs to me." He breathes into her ear and stomps out trailing after Mr. Santiago who was about to walk out the door.
Mrs. Avery's heartbeat intensifies and she takes steps backward. Her mouth drops open and beads of sweat appear all over her.
The hairs on her body all stand erect as if sculptures and sudden goosebumps pool through her sending chills down her spine as she freezes at the spot and stares wide-eyed watching him leave without knowing what to say or do. The very first time she felt tight-lipped and as well blank.
She wipes her eyes when she gets back herself and turns to the attendees to discover that they are as surprised as she is and just that makes her relax a bit.
"This wedding is hereby canceled till further notice! A new date will be announced by the priest shortly! I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I'm deeply sorry!"
She covers her face with her hands, bows her head, and without waiting for their reply scurries out.
"Mrs. Avery!" Brooks yells and rushes out using that as an escape to get away from the numerous glances of the people on him.
"You heard her precious attendees! You all should head home now!" The young priest announces, makes a quick cross sign for him and all, and gently strolls out paying deaf ears to their babbles.
Hisses, murmurings, and sighs echo over the nave as the attendees leave the church one after the other all to his or her own thoughts.
Mr. Santiago, who was about to open his car front door after dropping Juliet in the back feels a presence behind him and halts his movement. He turns and his face stretches into a deep frown seeing who was trailing after him and he clenches his fist. "Stop following me, Lucien!" He barks and stamps his foot.
"It's a pleasing feeling to know that you know my name, Mr. Santiago. But it's even more pleasing hearing you call it. Please open the back door, I'll love to join you so that we can take my beloved to the hospital."
Mr. Santiago chuckles and curls his brows at him. "I only thought you were wretched, I never knew you'd gone mad too. The day you realize that my sweet flashy daughter can never be with a wretched fellow like you the better for you. Go get a life dude. You sting. Gosh!"
Lucien chuckles and covers the remaining space between them. He stares deeply into his eyes for a while and pushes his head close to his left ear.
"Even the being above can't stop me from taking what is rightfully mine Mr. Santiago, who then do you think you're to stop me? You've done it once. And to be honest that will never happen again. Try me and you will know what I'm capable of doing." He smiles and pats him on the shoulder. "Be a good man. And you will forever cherish the fact that I'm your..."
The rest of his words get stuck in his throat as deafening slap dismounts on his right cheek. "You should have done more than that Mrs. Avery" he mumbles without even catching a glimpse of her because he had felt her presence behind him earlier when he was trailing after Mr. Santiago and knows she's been standing behind him all this while.
"You will receive more than that the next time you talk to my husband that way! And note, my daughter can never be yours! Get that into your empty skull! Moreover, she already has a guy ten times better than you. A guy that you can never be even in your next life! You might have successfully stopped the wedding today but I promise you that Juliet will surely get married to him!" She barks while pointing and glaring at him.
"I think you should get angry medications for your wife Mr. Santiago. And please also make her know that she shouldn't make promises that she can't fulfill."
Mr. Santiago and Mrs. Avery's mouths drop open and they unknowingly shiver.
"I'll take care of you when I'm back. Right now I need to take my daughter to the hospital." Mr. Santiago mutters, turns, and enters his car but not without glaring at him.
"Are you leaving without me?" Lucien grins at him and waves at Mrs. Avery to join her husband. She hisses at him but still does what he said anyway and that makes him burst out in a round of enormous laughter.
"He's crazy. I can see that now" Mrs. Avery whispers to her husband. "We need to send his wretched ass to where it belongs," she smirks.
"We certainly need to darling but that's not now. Our daughter first." Mr. Santiago replies and starts the car but his brows rise when he raises his face and sees Lucien standing in front of the car. "Get out of the way asshole!" He yells and whines down his front vent glass."I'm not leaving here until you open the back door for me to enter Mr. Santiago!" Lucien yells back and still stands where he is."Go on baby. Run him through. After all, he's of no use to us."Mr. Santiago shakes his head at his wife's words and trips off the car. "We need to take Juliet to the hospital, Lucien! Get the fuck out of the way!"Lucien chuckles and shakes his head. "It will be so bad of me if I don't join you guys so that I can know how she's faring Mr. Santiago."Just as Lucien finishes talking Brooks walks into the scene having a scowl on his face.He glances at Lucien, clenches his fist, and scurries to him. "Why the hell did you disrupt my wedding!" He
The journey to Glistening Royal Hospital takes just a few minutes for the cab driver as he pulls over a huge white-colored building and that leaves Lucien who had just relaxed a few minutes ago with the thoughts that the journey just started in awe. He looks at the so huge building not just twice but thrice and stares back at the cab driver who has been staring at him all this time while playing with his keys and at the same time waiting for his pay. "Are you sure we are in the right place, Sir?" He implores softly and once again takes a peek at the building before staring back. "I'm sorry to say but this place looks more like a hotel than a hospital." The cab driver laughs out loud to the extent that tears start trickling down his cheeks. Lucien curls his brows at him. "And what's funny about what I just said?" "Everything is." He retorts and laughs once more. "Who doesn't know the no.1 Americans biggest hospital 'Glistening Royal Hospital?' A wretched fellow like you I guess." He
"Poor hand. It must be hurting so badly right now. Do you mind if I help you massage it?" He stretches his hand towards her but she shoves it away and glares at him."Stop playing silly jokes with me asshole and tell me why you're here!""You should already know why I'm here mio caro so tell me what I want to know."The receptionist creases her brows and twists her mouth. "I just can't believe this" she laughs. "You're here to see Juliet?" She asks just to be sure she's thinking right. He shrugs and nods not feeling like saying anything."A poor wretched fellow like you wants to see Juliet? And to think you're even the reason she's lying there right now pisses me off. You sure have a lot of gut though. I can't even believe she once had something to do with you. Urgh! So disgusting!"Lucien chuckles and his face for the very first time stretches into a mischievous grin. "At least I'm way better than you in so many ways." He says, strolls clos
"You are awake?" His eyes widen and he adjusts on his seat as his eyes peer tenderly on her and in a whiff he forgets all she earlier babbled.Juliet scoffs and rolls her eyes at him and sighs softly patting her aching head tenderly. "I've been awake for a long time now thinking about several things Lucien. And the most painful part of them is you! I thought you dead! And to be honest you are the last soul I want to see right now because I hate you so fucking much! I deeply do!" She pats her head trying so hard to hold back her tears but it flows freely down her cheeks. He lowers his head as her words cut him so deeply and stretch his hand to hold her but she shoves it away and glares at him. "I didn't mean to leave Juliet. You were there years ago when your dad said all the things he said to me. You...""And so fucking what!" She barks interrupting him and groans out as the aching in her head intensifies due to her scream. He tries to hold her but she scowls at
Back in Royal hospital after watching Lucien leave with scary eyes, Mr. Santiago and his wife Mrs. Avery both run into Juliet's ward to see if she was hurt by that poor thing, so they ask their daughter Juliet if she is okay. "Princess are you alright? Did he hurt you again? what did he say to you darling?" She doesn't say a word but instead, she just closes her eyes. They irritate her right now, she can't bear to say a word because her thoughts are not hers at the moment. She just couldn't possibly understand the fact that Lucien came back after all this time. 'After all these years he just shows up out of the blue?' Thoughts like that cloud her mind that having her parents all over her isn't what she needs right now. She just needs to be alone. It wasn't long after closing her eyes, she fell asleep. The Pearsons leave the room so she can sleep in a quiet and conducive atmosphere. They go to the counter to make payments but what happens takes them all by surprise. "I'm sor
"What! What do you mean by that? How was he released?" "Someone from the high ups called me. I had no choice but to let him go, else I won't be much of a sheriff any longer." Immediately the sheriff says that, he hangs up and Mr. Santiago throws away his cell phone and it smashes against the wall. Mrs. Avery rushes into the room at the sound of the noise and her eyes widen sighting the shattered phone on the floor. "What's wrong Love, talk to me, please. Will you?" She stares softly at him. "It's the sheriff, he just told me that Lucien is out of jail." "How is that? How could he go scot-free? Like, who could possibly be that person who released him? Did the sheriff say anything about that?" "I didn't get to ask about that due to my emotions hun, you can see, can't you?" He holds his chest as he starts breathing rapidly. "No Santiago. Please don't do this, you are hyperventilating right now. Take a deep breath Love" Mrs. Avery rushes to him while tears tend to overwhelm her. Sh
The Pearsons all run after the man that just barged into their mansion. "What sort of nonsense is this?!" Mrs. Avery yells as she sees Lucien sitting on her expensive couch, his legs crossed as he grins at them while fiddling with his fingers. "How dare you come into my house, you filthy piece of garbage!" Mr. Santiago barks, staring daggers at the young man before him. Juliet comes in at that moment, Brianna rushing after her. Her eyes land on the handsome man seated on the couch, grinning at her parents. "Lucien, What are you doing?" She half yells as she glares at him. "My love" Lucien calls out as he stands up, approaching her with a smile on his face. His hands reach out to hold on to hers. Juliet furiously slaps away his hands as she glares at him. "Don't you dare touch me, Lucien! What sort of nonsense is this? What do you think you're doing?" "Darling, this Lucien is good for nothing!" Mrs. Avery cries out. "He's just come back to ruin our lives!" "Get the fuck out of
Juliet runs up the fleet of stairs as she heads for her room. Reaching her room, she enters and bangs the door close, and runs to her bed. She crashes her face first on the king-sized bed and lets all her bottled-up tears fall. She cries and cries feeling the pain resurfacing all over again. All those years she had to suffer because of what Lucien had done. The humiliation, the mocking, the pain. It had almost led her to commit suicide. She would have most definitely been dead by now if that stupid Brooks did not save her. Juliet hated Lucien but she despises that disgusting Brooks even more. She is glad the wedding had been called off otherwise, she wonders what she would have done. Juliet is sure Brooks has a hidden agenda behind marrying her, but her parents fail to see that. They worship Brooks as they refuse to see the reason. Different thoughts rush through her mind as she lies there. Soon sleep washes over her and her world goes pitch black. Lucien walks up the grand st
