“So, are you and Joey talking a lot now?” my mother asked with a teasing smile.

After leaving Joe’s house, my mother and I decided to pick up pizza for dinner, and watch a movie together. So here we now sit in front of the tv on the couch, enjoying our pizza and spending time together. She works so hard, that sometimes we aren’t able to spend much time, because she ends up falling asleep as soon as she got home.

I sighed and a smile formed on my mouth. I remember when she would tell me that there is no way I could avoid speaking to him forever. I would not be surprised if she said “I told you so,” before the end of the night, to me.

“Yeah,” I said with a chuckle.

“I told you so,” she with playful eyes, and gave me a light shove.
