Chapter 13

VIOLET

Stefan walks me down the stairs to the basement. It’s dark down and I can’t see a thing, but he can navigate our way easily.

From outside, it appears that he is alright but his tense hold over my hand says otherwise.

Whatever that Veronica was trying to say was enough to make him feel anxious.

I keep my mouth shut, knowing that if I talked, others would be able to hear. This also makes me wonder why they can’t hear me talking in Wolf’s room.

Perhaps, the room is soundproof. I conclude and continue walking.

Stefan stops outside a metal door and leaves my hand. He unlocks the door and turns to me. I can’t see his face clearly, because it’s too dark and this makes me desperate to see his expressions.

What is he thinking right now? I want to know.
