Hayes' Family Past

Chapter 4

“Your shattered plate,” she says. Selina responded to the question.

“WHAT?! Selina, how are you going to shatter them?

“You requested that I place them here, but you never mentioned that you would not shatter them.”

With Selina's stupid logic, Axel is hiding his face. He thinks it's better to let this girl die on the road than to see her break her palate at this stage.

Selina, on the other hand, has remained vigilant. Axel's knowledge of the Black Circle could put her in danger.

“What are you doing near Black Circle, a man like you?” asks Selina

“I just got off work and am heading home. What else do you think I did at 2 in the morning?”

The response came from Selina. “Trust is a valuable commodity in Norland City. “I need to double-check that you're not associating yourself with Black Circle.”

“I'm not sure what your business with them is, but as a former cop, I strongly advise you to avoid Black Circle. Selina, there's nothing positive coming from that place.”

“Are you... a cop?” Selina snatches a knife from behind her back and waits for Axel's response.

“I am, in fact. I worked in a bar for a while after getting fired for being stubborn.”

“What did you do, Axel, that got you fired? Did you assassinate your boss in order to earn a promotion?”

Selina is drawing him in with this query to understand what kind of countermeasure she has against Axel.

“I hope I have the courage to kill him, not for the promotion, but to reopen an old case,” she says.

“What kind of case are you talking about?”

“It has nothing to do with you Selina. Furthermore, I don't feel comfortable discussing my personal life with a stranger I met on the street.”

“You are correct, Axel.” Selina gradually releases the knife and places it in the dishwasher.

“It's about time I left Axel-” says Selina as she cautiously approaches Axel.

“Selina, I'm taking you home. I just want to make sure your wound didn't get any worse and that you got the correct treatment.”

“Lead the way, Axel Brainer, and I'll follow.” Selina responded.

Selina attacks Axel as soon as she notices his back. Far from a strong one, however strong enough to make sure he passed out and couldn't find her.

“Selina, what are you doing...” as a result, Axel collapses on the ground.

“Farewell, Axel. I'll repay your kindness with whatever I have someday.”

Selina leaves the residence in order to carry out her original plan of paying a visit to the safe house.

Given Selina's lack of knowledge about her current location, getting to the safe home takes some time. But, in the end, she made it to the safe point house.

Only she and Jason Hayes are aware of the emergency gathering in this small flat. Both make sure to make this flat far away from Black Circle’s nose.

Selina is overtaken with emotion as she recalls her earlier experiences with Jason, despite the fact that there is no portrait or memory of Jason in this location.

“I am… home Jason.” Selina feigns a greeting to Jason.

She scours the area for any weapon that might be useful. Selina's weapons of choice are old rifles, rusted steel wire, and a pair of daggers.

Thump!

Selina inadvertently causes a book to tumble. She takes it in her hands and blows the dust off the cover.

“I don't recall leaving behind a book here. Perhaps...” Selina wishes Jason Hayes had left the book behind before he died.

Selina Maya Hayes, my pride and delight daughter, is the subject of this book.

Creak.

“It's been a long time since I've visited this location. Now that Selina is away on a mission, I'm feeling a little lonely. There's just a year until she returns, and those administrators hags are giving me a hard time.” Jason, mumble.

Below the window, Jason approaches an old functional desk. He grabs a book from his suit once he is confident, he is in a comfortable position.

Jason begins to become absorbed in the book's writing.

Dear my daughter Selina Maya Hayes

I've included a description of the current situation in Black Circle within this message.

However, I'd want to share an old voyage with you, Selina, one that I and your father took before joining Black Circle.

Everything begins in our youth; Gary and I have been orphans since we were teenagers.

We tried everything we could to stay alive in the harsh environment of Norland City. Until the possibility for a better life presented itself.

Raisen, a mystery woman in her thirties, presented herself and offered to work for her. She promised us a satisfaction payout, and as you can expect, Selina, we didn't hesitate to accept her offer.

We've been working under Raisen's name for the past two decades and have established some form of reputation.

Gary was waiting for you to arrive in this planet at the same time. Everything looked to be heading in the direction of the joyful life we had imagined until your mother succumbed to a terrible cancer.

Since then, my brother, whom I had known since infancy, has vanished from this world. He's transformed into a different person.

On his stern face, only a sad and painful expression can be seen, but he was constantly doing his best to hide those emotions from you, Selina.

One night, I happened to see your father scream as softly as he could, with tears in his eyes.

Thankfully, as you grew older, happiness seemed to return to Gary's life, as if he had forgotten about his misery.

Unfortunately, this happiness did not last long because he also left us after the incident you had witnessed with Selina. When Gary died, I began to comprehend his anguish at the loss of his wife.

I looked for the person who killed my brother at all hours of the day and night. I got the solution after so many tailings, but I had to pretend to let go of my vengeance.

The last quarrels I had with your father, together with the commitment to protect you for as long as I can, will always be fresh in my mind.

As a result, I made it a priority to ascend to the highest throne in Black Circle and rule as the Owner.

Everything is being done to evict the administrators from Black Circle and begin my vengeance.

My dear Selina, this will be the end of the journey for me and your father. Now the purpose of this essay is to make you cautious about the old administrators’ movement.

I've heard over the previous two weeks that they're planning something behind my back with the cooperation of the current administrator.

You don't have to be concerned since we both know it won't be easy to get rid of Jason Hayes.

However, if something does happen to me, I will leave you with a list of administrators’ names:

Raisen

Sakarem

Lia Chen

Damon

Tessa

Jean Merriel (Joan)

Alex Sims (Lexi)

Lotus

I have also heard there will be another two assassins receiving votes to be promoted as new administrators. However, their names are protected by the current administrator.

This is the best I can give you and I hope to see you sage and sound next year.

Jason Rudeus Hayes.

Selina's cheek is slowly dripping with tears as a result of knowing the truth about his parents.

A man who dedicated his life solely for the sake of his family. “Whenever I inquired about Mom's location or when he had to explain my terrible suggestion, Dad... must have been in excruciating anguish.”

Sob-sob.

Selina was even more devastated than when she learned about Jason’s death. She is in pain from those ill speculations of her own mother for so many years.

'Dad, if you hear me from there, please… please… I am begging you! Please convey my sincere apologies to mom. for not only failing to be a good girl, but for those misspoken and awful words being directed at her.'

Sob, sob, sob.

Selina's tearful expression had already been replaced by determination. She realizes that crying will not get her anywhere.

“You two, Dad and Jason, may rest in peace and keep an eye on me from above. I'll play the part of the assassin to wipe down those evil administrators.”

The targets' names were gleaned from Jason's final message. Selina now knows who and how many of them will perish as a result of her actions.

'Target number one should be Raisen. She was the one who began all of this and even though Raise had a lengthy relationship with both my father and Jason.' She pondered the situation.

“First and foremost, I must track every single one of her actions; nevertheless, what is the safest way to begin the plan?” Selina ponders this.

Gathering information without arousing security or surrounding assassins is one of the challenges.

'They must be overjoyed that the administrator of the Black Circle's number one target is still alive.'

Tonight, should be a wonderful test to see if the Black Circle can be compromised.

Selina is lurking on the roof of the building, putting listening devices near Black Circle, taking advantage of the building's shadow.

She retires to find a safe area to gather information about Raisen once the preparations are complete.

“What sort of data should be gathered tonight?” Selina mumbles something.

From thirty minutes to an hour, and from five to ten hours. It's been a long time since Selina has received any information.

Raisen, other administrators, or appointment scheduling will not be discussed tonight. Today has been a very peaceful night for Black Circle.

'Should I return later? Besides, I could still listen from afar with these listening gadgets.'

Selina is ready to leave her snooping place when she overhears a conversation near Black Circle's entrance.

In an inconceivable circumstance, she narrows her eyes and clenches her palms.

Someone she thought was innocent, confidently walking into the Black Circle with an envelope in hand.

“If he has the black envelope, he is either a visitor presenting targets or a member of the Black Circle under the supervision of a certain administrator.”
