KRISTINA'S POV

I couldn't do this right now. No, I needed some time alone. Some fresh air. A long walk in the woods would probably be the best idea.

Nathan watched me leave the room for a few moments until he decided to follow me out. He followed behind me for almost three blocks before calling out…

"Kristina, wait!"

Of course he didn't want me to wander off by myself and leave him here all alone. But I was too far gone to care right now. I walked faster through the streets, trying to shake the feelings of anxiety and anxiety inducing stress building up inside of me.

Nathan caught up to me quickly enough but slowed down just enough to give me enough room for me to pass by without bumping him. We continued walking like that until the feeling faded and we could move again. As we turned onto another road, Nathan spoke up.

"Hey, um... Kristina, I think it might help if I tried to talk to you."

My eyes flew wide open. I stopped dead in my tracks. My heart rate spiked and my face grew
