14. Far From Home

Chapter Fourteen

Maya’s POV

“That was a stupid thing to do especially when I'm running away from a powerful enemy but I am already too tired, my soul and body is tired !”

I slept off for a brief second ,just a tiny brief second and when I opened my eyes. I saw myself back at the devil’s mansion but I closed my eyes hoping it's just a dream as I fell asleep.

With a sudden jolt, I snapped awake. The gentle hum of the engine beneath me, the rhythmic vibrations, and the warmth of sunlight on my face woke me up from sleep.

Confusion fogged my mind for a moment, but it quickly lifted, revealing the car's interior. The sun was casting a warm golden glow through the windows.

As I stretched and yawned, a delicious , rich and tantalising smell invaded my senses. My stomach rumbled in response, as if it recognized the delicious aroma.

Cheeseburgers. It was the mouthwatering aroma of cheeseburgers that had stirred me from my slumber. I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep
