The sound of growling and whimpering was all you could hear in the yard as the pack and rogues faught. The scent of blood filled the air as rogue after rogue was killed. I growled as the rogue I was fighting tackled me causing me to skid across the yard, and hit a tree giving him enough time to come at me since I was still disoriented from the tackle but before he could get to me, I saw a flash of black fur jump in front of me as blood dripped down its coat and I knew it was Bennett. I've never seen Bennett fight before so watching this was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. I walked through the silent house as softly as I could and head to the kitchen to grab a snack. My tummy was growling at me and I didn't want it to eat me so I have to get something to eat. I stopped when the floor creaked looking behind me to see that the lights were still of and strained my ears to hear any movement of my parents or siblings waking up but nothing. I was sitting on the uncomfortable chair beside the bed as I watched Bennett sleep. It's been exactly 5 days since the fight and he's been sleeping ever since and it's worrying me. He looked so fragile that with the slightest of movements he would have cracked. The doctor said that his body had gone into shock and that's probably why he wasn't waking up. I just want him to wake up so we can talk about the fight. I woke up to a bright light shining down on my eyes making me scrunch my eyes before opening them slowly. I was laying on the soft grass in the middle of the woods. There were trees standing tall blocking most of the sunlight. In the distance, I could hear the sound of a stream with birds chirping up in the trees and small rodents and insects scurrying about in the forest floors. I slowly sat up and looked around me before following the gentle sound of a guitar being strung followed by two voices singing along to the music.I recognized the song. It was one of my favorite songs when I was little. They used to sing it to me every night before bed and I always wondered why but never asked because I loved that song. It was called let them be little by the lone star I could feel my eyes blur with tears the closer I got to the sound.I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand. I sat in bed watching Bennett as he slept with the occasional whimper and frown. It pained me to see him that way. I can't imagine how it must feel finding out that the people you called mom and dad your entire life were not your real parents. I can't begin to imagine the heart ache that he's going through learning that his parents were the people who lost their lives saving him. I sighed and ran my fingers through his hair as he began to whimper in his sleep that seems to help him relax. It's been three days since he was discharged from the infirmary and two since he moved in with me. Morgan and Lilith have been trying to contact him but he refuses to talk with them. I know if I was in his position I would do the same. His brothers have came over to visit him but Benny just sits there and stares out the window while they talk. Lucas, Princeton, Isabella and Dimitri are the only people keeping me sane. They've helped me overcome my depression even though there are days where I just want to stay in bed and sleep. I haven't seen nor heard from Lilith and Morgan since I moved out though Dimitri has told me countless times that every time he comes home form his morning runs he finds them outside the pack house. I don't think I could ever forgive them for keeping my birth a secret. I couldn't hate my parents because they wrote about wanting to tell me the truth but they were warned not to utter a word.
