Her Childhood Friend

“Dimitri?” Nina couldn’t believe her eyes that whom they were seeing in front of her after so many years. Her schoolmate and her childhood friend, Dimitri Erold. She blinked in order to make sure she was not dreaming but when she saw him coming towards her with a smile on his face, it confirmed for her that she was not dreaming. He was really in front of her.

“Hey! After a very long while, Halzen,” he uttered while opening his arms for her. Smiling, she hugged him tenderly and he returned her gesture.

“So how are you?” he asked her, beaming. Pulling back, Nina smiled at him more widely.

“I am absolutely fine. How about you and your family?” she asked him back.

“We all are good. How is your grandma?” his question dimmed her smile and it faded the happiness from his grey eyes.

“She is no more,” she told him in her gloomy voice which made him sigh. He hugged her again.
