Chapter 97: An Agreement

The only thing that made Amy relieved was to see how close Samuel and Shane were. Maybe it’s true that blood is thicker than water. It was the only way to explain why Shane could accept Samuel so easily while he needed time to get close to Reese back then. But Amy felt bad for Reese since it was as if his son had dumped Reese after meeting Samuel.

Amy took a deep breath. “Reese, I want to talk with you. Alone.” Samuel snapped his head and glanced at Amy and Reese, but she forced a smile. “We won’t be long.”

Reese stood and accompanied Amy to walk near a fish pond. Shane chatted with Samuel while the boy leaned his head on his father’s chest.

“I didn’t ask Shane to call you uncle. He suddenly decided it himself and called Samuel daddy. I’m sorry for that.”
