Chapter 6: What's mine is mine!

Charlotte Hayes' POV

We went to Jake's agency, which Damien owns. I naturally wore the long silky red gown he had bought for me, along with a matching pair of glass slippers. I wore round black glasses and a black bucket hat to avoid drawing attention to myself. My heels clacked every time they collided with the slick floor as I walked gently through the corridor. Everyone in the room was staring at me. Who wouldn't notice Damien's firm grip on my soft, left hand as we walk?

"Don't you intend to let go of my hand?" I asked, a little shyly. This is the first time I've received shy looks from the audience. Damien chuckles, demonstrating his mischievous nature. He obviously enjoys the situation. I just sighed discreetly. We took the elevator to the highest floor, which is his office, by pressing the buttons.

The hallway in this part was even more exquisite. The floor was made out of marble, and the walls had magnificent minimalist designs that were pleasing to the eyes. Just one look, and you'll surely be enthralled. "You sure gave a lot of effort to your building," I whispered. "Well, if I knew that you would be walking in this building with me, I would have enhanced it more."

I was flustered by his remark. How can this man say something in an instant that makes someone feel so vulnerable and loved...? In a gentle way, my heart was thrumming. I had no idea what this sensation was. Is this just for fun, or is it something more? We entered his office when he suddenly grabbed my waist and began kissing me. It was slow, but he was enjoying it. "Mhm," he grumbled. "What are you doing?" I asked as I pushed him back. Damien wrapped his arms around my waist more tightly, as if desperate to hold me. His arms were large and rough. I was able to feel his muscles.

"Today, your husband will go here. I want him to see the sight of us having an affair," he whispered. "I know that," I replied in a soft tone. He looked into my eyes in a soft way, and said, "And for that to happen, I need to do this.."

He began to caress my cheek and kissed me again. He was untying his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. He pushed me into his swivel chair, dropping his black coat on the floor. As we walked towards it, we kissed. It was back then. He unbuckled his pants. "Heh," he said, smirking. He sat me on his lap and kissed me as he closed his eyes and felt the satisfying pleasure. This appears to be something I enjoy as well.

Then, all of a sudden, the door to the office creaked. I looked at the figure who was frozen at the door. Jake, my husband, was standing there looking frustrated. I pushed Damien away from me, pretending to be surprised. Damien, on the other hand, doesn't seem surprised either. Rather than surprise, anger was in his eyes as if he's annoyed that we got disturbed. "What the f*ck are you doing?" Jake asked with a rather annoyed expression. "Oh," he said after tying his tie. "You've arrived."

Jake took in his surroundings. The sloppy room, as well as the coat on the floor. Jake picked up the coat on the floor and placed it on the couch, anger up in his eyes. I, on the other hand, remained on the corner, pretending to be taken aback by him. I approached him with concern. "Jake, I-" Jake glared at me and pushed me away. "You b*tch! I knew it! I knew that-" He raised his hand to strike me, only to have Damien grab it.

"That's not how you act in front of a lady," Damien teased. Jake broke free from his grip and faced Damien. "What does this mean?" he exclaimed. Damien sighs and says in a calm tone, "Can't you see?" Damien pulled my waist closer towards him and held my cheek. "I'm in love with your wife," he said as he kissed my neck. I burst into tears. But of course, that was just an act I put up. I shivered as I stammered, "H-Hubby... save me!" Jake looked perplexed. Damien laughed like a maniac and asked, "Save? Who's saving who? Come on, baby. Let's get back to what we were doing, hmm?" "No!" I resisted.

Damien appeared to be pressuring me in the scenario. That is exactly what we intended. "Mr. Etienne!" exclaimed Jake. "Let go of my wife," he exclaimed angrily. He never cared about me, but I guess his ego can't bear the humiliation. Damien grinned. He let go of me and moved in a slow, gentle motion closer to Jake. However, the mood in the room was intense, as if war was raging.

"Don't you want me to approve of your drama?" Damien asked, placing his right hand on Jake's shoulder. The manipulation commences. Jake's heart throbbed with various, conflicting emotions. He was at a loss for what to do. He pondered whether he should sacrifice his ego or his career. But the answer was obvious. "If you want me to approve of your drama, give me your wife, hmm?" Damien pressed Jake. Jake fixed his gaze on me. I pretended to shake my head and told him to deny it. Jake was also caught in a quandary. But, alas, he smirked at me, thinking, 'Once again, you were useful to me.'

After all, his career is more important than me, myself. It has always been this way. I am nothing more than a tool in his hands. "Well, sharing is caring, isn't it?" Jake asked, looking at Damien. Damien, on the other hand, appeared odd. He was supposed to go with the flow, but instead he appeared angry... As if he's angry. Damien suddenly laughed ironically and asked in a cold, deep voice, "Sharing? Who says I'm saying what's mine?"
