It took a considerable will to break away from my captor. His touch alone sent me haywire and he knew it. I could not even summon the courage to speak because his aura was distracting.

Stephan turned me around so that I was facing him. He looked at me like he was just seeing me for the first time. "Pamela," he whispered, his eyes filled with a mix of longing and uncertainty.

My knees buckled at the whisper of my name and I wanted him to have me right there on the cold marble floor. But the rational part of my brain screamed for caution and restraint.

A cleared throat interrupted our train of thought, as a man dressed in a crisp suit approached us. He had a permanent scowl on his face which made it seem like he was mad at the world.

Stephan gently broke away from me as he became aware of the man's presence.

I felt goosebumps rise on my forearm as the man came closer. He was a massive-looking man who towered over me and Stephan. His whole persona screamed danger.
