"Meeting you was like listening to a song for the first time and knowing it would be my favorite." Michael Bliss

The professor finished distributing the exams before he left the classroom. Eden let out a sigh and rested his head against the chair. He was scared he would fail the test, but fortunately, he got it. He grinned as he looked at the paper. Managing both student life and parenting was a challenge. He barely had time to study as he had three part-time jobs and needed to take care of Leo when Olivia was preparing for her exams.
"You got it?" Kian jumped from the chair behind to sit next to him.
"Yeah, I guess I got lucky," Eden chuckled, "I would have lost my mind if I had to retake this one,"
"I know, right?" Kian sighed, "The professor has no mercy on us. Say, are you free this afternoon? We could grab some coffee or something,"
"If only I could," Eden gave him a sad smile.
Kian nodded and patted his back, "Thanks to you, I always make sure to put on condoms,"
Eden hit his arm and glared at him, "Really now? I'm that example?"
"You are," Kian laughed, "As much as I find Leo adorable, I can't imagine myself with a kid at this age. You're amazing, my friend,"
"Sure I am," Eden let out a little chuckle, "It's difficult as hell, but I love coming back home to Leo. He makes me forget all struggles,"
"Aw, do you already miss him?" Kian pouted, "Go back home now then,"
Eden laughed, "I have something to do before I head home,"
"What is it?" Kian lifted a brow, "I thought you did evening jobs,"
"Yeah, but I got this weird job just this morning," Eden answered, "I'm not sure how it's going to be, but I will have a look today, and if I don't like it, I'm going to decline,"
Kian stood up and put his papers inside his bag, "What kind of job is this?" he put on his jacket.
"Someone asked me to be their son's bodyguard," Eden said as he remembered the strange man from this morning, "He must be someone rich judging from the expensive suit he was wearing and the fancy car his chauffeur drove."
"Oh?" Kian looked at him with confusion, "A bodyguard? Now that's fancy,"
"Fancy, my ass," Eden rolled his eyes, "I don't think I'm going to like working for a spoiled brat,"
Kian chuckled and put his arm around his shoulders as they walked outside the classroom. "Is it good money at least?"
Eden hummed and gulped when he saw a black car parked in front of the faculty building, "That's for me,"
Kian whistled at the fancy car brand, "Do you think you can get me a job there?" he laughed.
"You can't even defend yourself, let alone guard someone else," Eden rolled his eyes, earning a hit on the arm from his best friend.
"I gotta go. I'll tell you the details tomorrow,"
Eden headed to the car, and a tall man wearing a black suit opened the back door for him.
"Good afternoon," Eden greeted and got inside, "Thanks,"
The car smelled nice, and Eden caressed the leather chairs as he's never been inside a fancy car before. He wondered if his boss owned a big company.
"So, where does he live?" Eden asked, looking at the driver through the rearview mirror. "The boss's son, I mean,"
"Young Master, Harvey," the driver corrected, "He lives near the university," he answered.
"I see," Eden nodded.
"I'm Henry, by the way," the driver took off his sunglasses and looked at him through the mirror, "I'm the Young Master's driver,"
"Nice to meet you. I'm Eden," Eden bows his head.
"You don't know how lucky you are to get this job," Henry said, "Dozens of people apply to be bodyguards monthly. The Chairman is picky when it comes to letting people in his mansion. He doesn't trust just anyone,"
"Why did he trust me then?" Eden lifted a brow, "I didn't apply or anything. He just saw me fighting in the street,"
Henry stayed silent for a moment as he looked at him. He drove the car to a zone Eden has never been to before. There was no department store or food stalls. There were only mansions and trees.
"He must have seen something in you," Henry finally spoke, "I'm sure you are special,"
Eden scoffed, "There's nothing special about me,"
"We're here,"
Eden looked outside and widened his eyes when he saw the big mansion Henry parked the car in front. It was like those fancy houses in the movies. There were large windows with black framed around the entire house. The garden was as big, and a small fountain welcomed them at the entrance.
Eden scoffed as he walked between the trees. He thought it was unfair that some people lived luxurious life while he struggled to feed his family every day.
Eden followed Henry inside, and they took off their shoes before the maids gave them new slippers and offered them a glass of water.
"Where is the Young Master?" Henry asked the maids.
"In his room. We just served him lunch."
"He eats lunch in his room?" Eden lifted a brow and followed Henry to the elevator. Yes, there was an elevator inside the house because rich people are too lazy to walk the stairs.
Arrived on the second floor, Eden was surprised to spot two bodyguards guarding a large door.
"That's the Young Master's room," Henry whispered.
"Wait, he already has bodyguards?" Eden scrunched his brows, "Why am I here then?"
"Those two only guard the house," Henry replied, "You are going to be his personal bodyguard."
The two men bowed to Henry and knocked on the door before they opened it, "Young Master, Henry and your new bodyguard are here,"
Harvey, who was busy reading a book on his couch, rolled his eyes and smashed the volume on the glass table. He stood up and cleared his throat before he turned around lazily. "I said I don't need a freaking bodyguard—" he froze as soon as he saw Eden standing by the door.
Harvey lost his words when the young man greeted him. He was tall, with a slim figure and a heavenly face — just his type.
"Nice to meet you, Harvey,"
"Young Master Harvey," Henry corrected and cleared his throat. "The Chairman appointed Eden to stay with you from now on," he told Harvey. "I hope you won't get rid of this one too,"
"We'll see about that," Harvey smirked and turned around Eden to take a better look at him. Then, he looked at Henry and added: "You can leave now. I got it,"
Henry looked at Eden and nodded, "The maid bodyguard is with the Chairman now. When he comes back, you'll sign the contract and discuss your schedule and holidays,"
After the doors closed, Harvey came back to lie on the couch. "You study at the Business School too. How come I've never seen you?"
"I don't know," Eden shrugged, "It's a big school, and I'm a fifth year."
Harvey hummed, "I'm a third-year."
Eden nodded and stayed silent for a moment as he looked around. The room was three times bigger than his flat. There was a large screen on the wall, and all the latest game consoles were above the TV table. About more than twenty books were on the shelves, and one was on the glass table. Eden guessed Harvey liked to read a lot.
Eden kept looking around until he saw something he shouldn't have seen. The drawer from the bedside table was open, and it was full of condoms, lube bottles. There was something else inside, and Eden felt his cheeks burning when he guessed what it was — a dildo.
Harvey followed his stare and smirked, "I have lots of hobbies," he said as he stood up to face him.
Eden quickly looked through the window. "I heard you chased your previous bodyguards from home,"
"Oh, I didn't chase them," Harvey chuckled, "They left alone," he shrugged.
"I see," Eden nodded, "Your father said you're a little difficult to handle. Is it true?"
Harvey's smile faded and sent him a deadly glare. "I don't know what he meant by difficult to handle," he muttered.
"I don't know either," Eden shrugged, "I'll do my job as he asked anyway. I hope I won't be one of those bodyguards who ran away,"
Harvey's smirk reappeared on his face, and he approached him, "Those bodyguards were old and boring. Unlike you."
"How do you know I'm not boring?" Eden lifted a brow.
Harvey looked at his face and realised how perfect it was. His almond-shaped brown eyes stared at him, piercing his soul, and his dark hair fell above his brows. Eden was a handsome man. No one could deny it.
"I'm already entertained," he whispered, sending his warm breath all over his bodyguard's face. But Eden didn't flinch, and Harvey knew at that moment that he wasn't going to flee like the previous men.
"That's it!" Harvey clapped his hands and headed to the bathroom, "I'm going to the club tonight,"
Eden frowned, "The club? Don't you have class tomorrow?"
"I don't always go to class," Harvey shrugged, "But I can manage both anyway," he flashed him a smile.
But I can't. Eden thought to himself.
"You can grab something from my clothes," Harvey said, taking off his sweater. "I see we have the same size,"
Eden looked away as soon as Harvey's abs appeared before his eyes. He cleared his throat and looked for the dressing room.
It was only his first day, and Harvey was already disturbing.

"Some people will only love you as much as they can use you. Their loyalty ends where the benefit stops."Unknown—Henry stopped in front of the nightclub and got out to open the door for the Young Master. Eden stood next to him and looked around. For a weekday, the club was pretty busy. There was a long line, and Eden wondered if they would have to wait for hours to get in. His question was soon answered when the doorman bowed to Harvey and welcomed him inside without hesitation.Harvey turned around and smirked when he saw the confusion on Eden's face. "Let's go," he tilted his head and walked inside.Eden silently followed until he could feel the vibrations haunting the dark place. The music got louder little by little, and they arrived at the main lounge
"Never take the blame for how someone mistreated you."Khalilah Velez — "You look exhausted," Kian looked at his friend, worried. Their class just ended, and Eden was lazily putting his things in his bag. "Did you work late?" Eden hummed, "That brat wanted to go clubbing," "Seriously?" Kian gasped, "I always begged you to go clubbing with me, and you always said no. Now when Mister says it, you don't hesitate," he crossed his arms and looked away. "Well, Mister Kian doesn't pay me to go to the club," Eden imitated his friend's voice, earning a nudge on the arm. "How is he, by the way?" Kian asked, "Is he like those bratty, spoiled rich guy
"If we all could see the world through the eyes of a child, we could see the magic in everything."Unknown—Eden nervously tapped his fingers on the steering wheel as he checked his watch multiple times. Harvey watched him from behind, and he looked around to see the traffic that was stressing him out. They got out at peak hour, and all the cars were advancing at low speed.Harvey guessed his kid finished school at five, and there were only ten minutes before he got out. He didn't know where his school was, but it must be a little far, judging from Eden's expression.Harvey didn't say a word and kept watching him. He tried to picture the kid; a little boy with the same eyes as his dad and probably his mother's nose — though he never met Eden's wife bef
"Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice."Nelson Mandela—Eden woke up at five in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Olivia was next to him on the bed, with her book open on her thighs. She spent the night reviewing her lessons. Hecarefully left the bed and put on his slippers before walking to the bathroom. He washed his face and brushed his teeth, and then he headed back to the bedroom to get his workout clothes. There was nothing to do at home, so early in the morning, so he decided to go for a jog. After he got dressed, he entered Leo's room and grinned when he saw his little arms and legs spread on the mattress. No matter how cold it was, Leo would always throw the cover on the floor, and Eden had to pick it up every time. He kissed Leo's forehead, took his key
"Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it."Unknown—Eden entered the mansion and met Grayson in the main hall. "Good morning," he greeted him with a tired smile."Your suit is ready," Grayson told him, "You should start wearing it from now on,""Alright," Eden nodded and headed to the bodyguards' dressing room to change. There were about ten lockers with name tags. He smiled when he read his name and opened it to find his suit and shoes ready. He took off his uniform and put on a plain white shirt, black pants and a blazer."Hey man," Tyler opened his locker and put his sports bag inside. "How were your classes?"
"All these people everywhere, but my eyes on you."Unknown—The students took notes while the professor explained the lesson projected on the screen, everyone but Eden and Kian. Eden was opening and closing his pen while Kian watched him with confusion. He wondered why his friend was zoning out a lot lately. Kian grew impatient of looking at him repeat the same action, and he scooted closer to him to whisper: "Hey, what's wrong? You've been silent these last two days."Eden only shrugged without bothering to lift his head and look at his friend. Kian scrunched his brows and snatched the pen away from his hand. "Seriously, if there's anything, you've got to tell me."Eden let out a deep sigh and finally moved his head a little to look at his friend's concerne
"All the best heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary."Gerard Way—The stranger dragged Leo to a narrow empty street, and the boy didn't stop yelling and asking for help. Harvey followed them, swearing at the man as loud as he could. For once, he regretted not doing some cardio at the gym as he found himself short of breath very soon. But despite his lack of sportiness, Harvey succeeded to reach them and pulled the man's velvet sleeve."Leave him the fuck alone!" he shouted breathlessly."Mr Clarke!" Leo cried, his eyes wide as he recognised his dad's boss. He wanted to go to him, but the man tightened his grip around his wrist."Who the hell are you?!" the stranger, a man in his thirties, glared at Harvey. "What do you want with
"The reason we struggle with insecurities is that we compare our behind the scenes with someone else's highlight reel."Unknown—For the first time in months, Eden waited for Olivia in front of the medical faculty. It had been an eternity since they last walked together after classes. Before, they used to go on dates, but after Leo arrived, it all ended. Eden and Olivia weren't going to the theatre or each lunch somewhere. They planned to head to the hospital after they picked up Leo from school.Eden insisted Olivia visited Harvey to thank him for saving their son from Jack's man. She refused at first, thinking of her upcoming exam as an excuse to escape. Eden cared less about her studies now. The least she could do for their family now is to speak to the man who endangered himself for Leo.
