Chapter No.14: The Bonding Time

Lucas Bennet:

"Lucas, how did my mom get hurt?" Lily asked as she looked at her mother lying on the hospital bed unconscious "She was so happy today."

"It's all because of me, flower. I didn't take good care of your mommy and I feel bad about that. Are you going to forgive me?" I asked the little girl who sat down beside me, with her tiny arms wrapped around my arm and her head resting on it.

"It's not your fault, Lucas. But, please tell me that Mommy is going to be alright. She is going to be okay, right?" Lily asked, " I am scared."

"Don't be scared. I promise that your mom is going to be alright. The doctors told us that your mommy needs a few hours of nap right? She is just resting and will wake up very soon. In the meantime would you mind coming home with me since your Aunt Sarah is going to stay over here at the hospital with your mom?" I asked Lily who looked at her mother and then at me but nodded her head.
