Nikolas
Her eyes squinted in obvious shock. Judging by her reaction, I was sure she was pulling an amazing stunt and this would be her last. Her looks though, She was definitely someone I wouldn't even look at twice and we had a child? Doubtful. I liked them blonde and feisty. And even if we crossed paths in the bedroom, I was sure her burning red hair would stick in my head and never had I ever fucked a redhead."Hello Miss," I announced, enjoying her discomfort. The way she shuddered was a turn I suppose. Considering I did not have much control over my life at the moment, It was enjoyable watching someone crumble under me.
"You came..." She stuttered.
"Of course. If my son's life is in danger like you said. Do you really think I would disregard such important news?"
Her eyes squinted one more time. It seemed like a habit if you asked me. She was hurt by my daring and honest to God's reply. Once I was closer to her, I realize there was no way I banged her. She had nothing I admired in a woman I would crave for one night. First, She lacked curves in all the right places, She didn't wear makeup and I was damn sure she hadn't even tried on a lipstick--Not with those charged lips. She was the opposite of everything that would interest me so why then would she lie without putting much effort into it? The other hoes put some effort into character playing before getting bashed by test results and the laws. Was there a chance she wasn't lying?
"Could you stop looking at me like that?" She tensed before swallowing nervously.
"Sorry, " I apologized, my voice sounding clipped. This was an act I was putting up with. Just like she had asked, I stopped eye-fucking her unattractive appearances and got to the point. "So where is your son?"
My question got her all pumped up cause I saw a surge of energy rush through her fragile thin frame as she bounced up and led me to a ward. My eyes flicked over her don't fully again. She didn't look threatened. A virtue most of the gold-digging bitches lacked. In fact, Since we met, She had put up a hardened expression which if I was not mistaken sent a burning signal that she hated me. The door to the ward opened and I got my first glance inside. The small room reeked of antiseptic and not the good kind. The smell seemed to remind me it was only a cover for the thousand deaths which must have taken place somewhere within these walls. My eyes scanned past the questioning eyes of two individuals in the room to the young boy on the bed who was battling for his life. Fate could be cruel. The boy, I hated to admit caught my attention. I trudged closer to have a better look. He had the Mediterranean looks; A naturally tanned skin and raven hair dark as midnight and a striking resemblance to...me? It was impossible! It was probably my eyes playing tricks on me. I stepped backward and remembered my mission. Sadly, it wasn't to save the poor child. It was to punish someone who lacked the humanity to save a child but would rather rope me in as the father. It did not make sense!
"Where is the doctor?" I demanded, hoping to end this as quickly as possible.
"He's coming." A middle-aged man replied to me. I heard him whisper something loud enough for me to hear. "Nikolas Sika?" Of course. Everybody would see me like a fucking monster considering the state the boy was in. The hushed words only pissed me off more. A bit of regret yet again! The typical life of Nikolas. Stunted contracts, A forced engagement, and now Daddy baby issues. My thoughts poofed away when the doctor rushed in.
"You are the father?" The doctor asked a bit surprised himself. My initial response was to debunk the fallacy but for some reason, my lips were clamped shut. Maybe it was the humane part of me hoping that innocent child lying lifeless and I had matching blood groups.
"Seems so." I honestly replied.
"Okay. Please come with me."
I agreed, taking one last look at the young woman who brought me here in the first place. She was crouched beside my supposed son with her eyes closed. There was just this honesty radiating in her and while a little part of me doubted it all, I prayed it wasn't true. I was taken through the hallway to another room. It was a bit dark and the fluttering light didn't help matters. The hospital needed a fucking renovation.
"Please take a seat." A woman I had hot noticed before appealed to me from inside. Her dressing informed me she was a nurse so I paraded my big boy panties and took a seat. The woman tied a band to my upper hand and got a needle ready. Meanwhile, I finally managed to clear my head so I could finally achieve my agenda.
"Doctor!" I called to the man who brought me here. The young man turned in my direction prompting me to continue. "I need you to do something for me."
"Which is to?" The man inquired.
I jolted immediately. The needle went in and began to draw in my blood. The woman didn't even give a warning. I manager to ignore her incompetence and proceeded to finish what I was saying.
"Could you carry out a paternal DNA test on the boy?" I asked.
The doctor gave me a puzzled look before replying, "Okay." He then turned to the nurse who was drawing my blood and instructed her on what to do before leaving the room. I finally felt relieved when the foreign object sticking inside my skin was pulled out. Then the nurse asked, "Your name?"

AlvaBy nighttime, Sam's teacher and the headmaster had returned to their various homes. I had asked about Mr. Nikolas from the doctor but he informed me that the man had left. I was still reeling with the chance that he had shown up. It was probably meant to taunt me or something but it was a miracle in my eyes. If only Laura was alive to see this day. A minute of silence reminded me I was working on an empty stomach and that I had to get something to eat if I did not want to end up a patient myself. Considering an afterthought, I decided to make a quick stop home, get some clothes for Samuel and stuff my stomach with something that would last me all through tonight and probably for the better parts of tomorrow. I wouldn't have to go if the cafeteria in the hospital didn't cost a fortune. As I exited the building in a mad rush to get home. Upon crossing to the other street, The rain began to drizzle. The drizzle developed to a heavy downpour and soon enough I was soaking wet and searching for a free area to hide in until the heavens calmed down but I hated to say it, Heaven practically abandoned me. The prospect of running back to the hospital sounded stupid considering I was buildings away from my apartment and upon that, I was wet. So it was squish squash through the rain which only seemed to pour down like lashes to my skin. I felt bare and freaking cold. The speeding cars didn't make it any better. Waves of dirty water hit me like no man's business but it was a typical thing people in the city of Meriwiel did. Getting new strength in the midst of tribulations, I decided to speed on it. At that moment, A car honked at me and almost immediately blinding me with its headlight. I proceeded to curse the insensitive son of a bitch behind the wheel of the black Aston Martin and walk away but in a short time, I learned the car wasn't honking to get me out of its paths as I had initially thought. It was following me. Refusing to let my fears gain control over me, I confronted the fellow behind the wheels."Are you following me!" The glasses were tinted but I was sure whoever was in heard me loud and clear. The passenger door suddenly flung open and a somber voice said, "Get in."Yeah! Like I would believe a kind-hearted stalker would give me a ride home. As I bent over to give him the rudest comment I could think of, I jumped. Because I knew the driver. I dared to say my history with him went way back and it only seemed to ignite a fire within me. Well, the reason was quite simple. I wondered why Mr. Nikolas was stalking me.
Nikolas"Are you stalking me, Mr. Sica?" She demanded in a very predictable manner. For someone who I had no memory of, She did hate me. I pondered how we hooked up in the first place If we did have a one night stand."You aren't that special Miss," I answered. True that I wasn't scoring the whole city for a girl who happened to be my baby mama. It was an accident, A rumble across town led me to a dejected young woman walking in the rain. Seeing her suffer in the cold made me snap, So somehow my good sides nature offered a ride but judging by the disgusting glares she felt passing at me. I was right to guess she would refuse my offer."I don't need your validation to be special Mr. Sica and the name is Alva." She said. I could still catch that fire in her eyes. It felt like she was playing nice even if all she wanted was to destroy me. My fingers tightened on the steering wheel just staring into the flickering orbs of cog
NikolasIcould be a prick. There was doubt about that but I did not think anything I said was wrong. We shared a night somewhere along the line. I was just trying to figure out when and where I had slipped up. I feared what would happen if my mom discovered she had a grandson, My entire world was sure to flip. I briefly hoped all of these was just a wild attempt to rope me. Maybe I would spare her if this turned out to be nothing but drama but every encounter I had with the woman told me she wasn’t looking for hard cash. There was just something about her. I haltingly started the car and drove. I didn’t have the capacity to bear my mother at the moment, Not with all the disturbing discoveries I had made in one day. It made me consider; What if there was more of them? In spite of myself, I was deadly worried. What I did then was a stupid childish act. It did not cancel my mistakes but if
Alva”If it is some paper you want me to sign, Mr. Sica, I will. I have no intent of groping you with child support or claiming your properties. Samuel and I are fine as we are.” I swallowed. That had to be the reason he was here. His eyes met mine unflinchingly and I could tell he had questions. He put a finger to his lips as an awkward silence followed. “So you actually believe I am that shallow. So out of the blues, I find out I have a son and the only thing you think runs through my mind is…’” He paused. “…properties and child support? Why do you have this one sided opinion about me?”I fell silent, weighing his words. If I could have it Alva’s way, I would scream his face that I wasn’t buying his act.“Years ago,” I began, hating that I had to keep the details a secret. “A woman walked into your office and tol
AlvaHis words reechoed in my mind.I wasn’t sure I could do it. The edgy shock of giving Samuel to his father without a fight did not feel quite right. I considered running but without funds and a legal passport, There wasn’t a chance. Plus there was more than a fair chance he would find me. He was an influential man.“Mom, Are you alright?” Samuel intruded on my thoughts.“I am fine.” I assured.Samuel did not seem to buy my response. So to keep his little mind off the complicated topic, I offered him the cold ramen buried in my bag. “I brought noodles. Your favorites.”“Do not worry about it mom. Dad already fed me.”A flush went through me. Did he just refer to Nikolas Sica as his father? That was unexpected an left me weak to the knees. I paused, letting my inner voice remonstrating on wh
NIKOLAS I wished I knew what to tell her. Alva probably already told her everything but for Doria, hearing it from my lips would be the only thing she would consider the truth. The easy way out would be to lie and deny it all but what tale would I weave when Alva arrived at my door with Samuel. There was a slim chance Alva might have rejected my offer though. Still, the look of dread Doria had on her face suggested she had pieced something together. Lying to her would be futile and if I broke her heart, she had to know it was never my intention."Samuel is my son," I confessed."I don't understand," Doria stammered, tears running down her cheeks like trickles from rooftops. "I was in Paris for just four months. How is this possible?""Doria, calm down and let me explain." I tried pacifying her but she had sunk too deep."Calm down! How do you explain that you have
KLAUSLilika stifled a laugh. The growl emanating from her throat continued to grow until she was cackling like a witch. I could tell this was her coping mechanism. She had laughed the same way when the doctor had told her the love of her life; the man who had danced with her at the balcony on her birthday had died from a heart attack the next morning. This was another of those many hollow laughs my mother gave when things were going awry. Soon enough, her laugh relapsed. Honestly, it felt like a Deja-Vu of the morning I lost Dad. Mom looked at Doria who had just returned to the living room playing the role of betrayed dutiful housewife to a fault and then back at me. I saw a drop of tear escape from the crevices of those eyes that always pretended to see all the bright and beautiful things of the universe. Mother was shattered."You are not kidding. You...have a son." I had never remembered her sounding so anxious. This s
ALVA I hoped he understood my plight. Probably not. But a part of me still believed he would come to an agreement with me. I was trusting a man I knew I should not be trusting with the life of my son and ensuring no legal case happened that would cause Samuel to wrenched from me. His pause on the line made me feel like I was fighting a losing battle. My mind would not stop making up scenarios that made my head split open. Had he figured something out? After all, I had cracked so easily when he suggested I reach a compromise if I didn't want him to fight for custody. He was a businessman. He was known to make gambles and oftentimes, they weren't wrong. "Mr. Sica?" I said, flagging down a taxi by the hospital road. "Are you still on the line?" "Of course." He retorted, breaking the static white noise that had almost become familiar. "I understand your perspective. Samuel is going through so much. I
NIKOLAS"You aren't serious." Doria scoffed. "You are really shoving me out of your life for some lowlife prostitute you fucked years ago?"My ears ringed at her assertion. She thought she was better. Oh, Doria had it easy. Every passing second stayed close listening to her spew bullshit made an inferno invite within with me. I had blamed Doria for being rash but heaven knew what I would do if I lost my temper. I pushed past her, returning to the living room only to see my mom prepared to face me with a scowl. Doria had succeeded in pulling her to the dark side. Ignoring the daggers she shot at me, I proceeded to spill the information I had."Alva will be coming here with Samuel."My mom erupted into another bout of laughter like she could not believe what I said. "Lemme guess, Alva is the whore you knocked up?"The blatant use of such a dirty word made me clench my fist.
