Four days later. Sunday. 8:03 AM.
Dressed in a dark brown halter top and tight, faded shorts with a pair of clean black sneakers on her feet, Candice stood in a long queue of people waiting at a bus stop for the next transit bus. She was the last person on the line, and it angered her immensely because she had other places to be.
Yomi's crib, for example, was the first place on Candice's list. She wanted to pay him a surprise visit today before doing the same to her other boyfriends' houses. But the slow-moving queue was practically killing her and wasting her precious time.
Candice almost wished she could grow angelic wings to fly away from there, but she knew better than to wish for the impossible.

Jeez, that's one helluva huge amount of money, Candy.”“I know, babe.” Candice whispered, toying with Yomi's nipple with her thumb and index finger. “Trust me, I do. But I need it urgently, baby.”“What for?”“For my handouts and toiletries and blah blah blah.” Candice lied, feigning sadness. “I mean, I'm owing some people in my department who need their money back before this month ends. And that is the most worrisome part about this entire thing. I remember asking my older sister for help, like, three weeks ago or something, but she hasn't gotten back to me till date. In fact, she doesn't pick my calls anymore.&rdqu

They went into a small, enclosed court where they both had a perfect view of the ongoing game of basketball.Funnily enough, they'd barely started discussing when a yogurt seller passed by with his fancy cart.Quickly, Isioma went to meet the man and bought some snacks for herself and Jordan. Then, she returned to her seat and handed Jordan's snack to him with utmost care.“Whoa. Thank you, buddy.” Jordan offered Isioma a nice smile in appreciation. “Very much!”Isioma smiled back even nicer. “You're welcome, JD.”

After turning off the ignition, a well-built man stepped out of the car and went over to the other side to open the car door for his newfound pretty young thing.Chattering, they both walked into the building while holding hands as if they were long-term friends or inseparable lovers from a romantic soap opera. When they arrived at the biggest living room, the fairsome lady saw a lot of expensive furniture that ornamented the whole place like King Solomon's palace, but the most important items she noticed were the picture frames on the walls. In them, she saw photographs of the same

Yomi was instantly baffled, because Idara was the actual person he expected to see, not his super-duper hot partner chilling with another gorgeous man.A strong feeling of betrayal tore through him as he stood still, watching Candice making merry with the man unlike she'd ever done with him. In fact, she looked so happy and full of life in the man's presence that Yomi began to wonder who exactly he was to her.Maybe a secret lover? Maybe an ex-boyfriend? Perhaps, just a friend?Yomi couldn't tell, but he certainly needed answers real soon, and he wasn't going to get them while standing t

Both men were dressed in black outfits, smoking weed like nobody's business.Judging from the way Candice walked and spoke freely with them, one could easily tell that she'd known these not-too-nice-looking men for a long time, and that she was someone dear to them.Anyway, on arriving at the parlor, Candice saw the main person whom she came looking for: Mr. Eli Pablo, the big, bad boss himself. Of course, the boss was very happy to see Candice, and his excitement showed through the way he hugged her so tight that it was all she could do to not choke.Gladly, Mr. Eli released Candice and offered her a seat,

She'd never in her life witnessed a murder before, except for the ones she'd seen in movies—especially documentaries and fast-paced action films.Seeing it in real life was an entirely different ball game for Idara.Sobbing, Idara glanced at Isioma's blood on the wall and on the ground and wished they'd killed her instead. Even though she knew for a fact that she was next in line to be killed, she truly wished she was the first person that died rather than Isioma.Poor Isioma definitely didn't deserve to die for such petty reason. If Idara could take her place or bring her back to l

Her eyes were solely fixated on Yomi, who sat three rows before her seat, having so much fun with his friends.Apparently, Yomi was surrounded by some fine babes who were hopelessly drooling over him, and Idara didn't want to interrupt their conversation by walking up to Yomi to apologize for her wrongdoing, so she decided to wait instead until he was all alone, even though it might take forever. At last — after twelve minutes to be exact — the ladies left, and Yomi took up his bag and got up to head out of the lecture hall. That was when Idara made her move.“Yo, Yomee!”&ldquo

She was particularly glad to see Isioma in good health, and thus took longer in embracing her while whispering “Thank you, God!” over and over again.Although Isioma was somewhat puzzled by Idara's actions, she didn't say anything silly or awkward to ruin the moment. Instead, she just assumed that Idara missed her so much, as she embraced her back. With all said and done, the trio went into Yomi's car to vibe and chill.“Where's Yomi?”“He went to print something at a cafe,” Idara answered Anastasia. “He'll be back
