CHAPTER 7

Cathy's heart was beating fast and strong when they left and when her brothers and representatives were out of sight. She felt as if her heart had stopped beating because of the nervousness she was feeling, and she couldn't hear anything else but the pounding of his chest. Not only that, Cathy also couldn't look her brothers in the eyes because she knew she was the one to blame.

"Goodness, that's almost it," Cathy whispered softly.

She also saw that Vin and Ole were also relieved, but the three of them knew that the verdict had not yet been reached. They will wait for the representatives to leave and make sure that her brothers will not miss it, especially her older brother, Jude. Her father and mother will continue the scolding.

"Um, Miss, I think we should go back," Ole said hesitantly.

Vin nodded twice. "It's okay that Sir Jude and the others saw us instead of Duke. If Duke Dominic and Duchess Alice find out about it, we will definitely be punished more severely."

Cathy knows why her two beta-aids are scared. Her parents really stick to the rules. If something is forbidden, it is forbidden; nothing more is said. Furthermore, they're the leader of this pack. That's why Ole and Vin are so afraid of the leader of the Northern Pack.

"All right."

Without further ado, Cathy, Vin, and Ole left the village and returned to the mansion. The representatives stay in the west villa, which is just in front of the mansion, which is why it is not possible for Cathy to just leave her room.

When they arrived and entered the room, Cathy immediately dropped her body on her bed. "If you're looking," she said softly.

She didn't think that when she sneaked out of the mansion, what she feared would happen there would happen, and she never thought she would see her three brothers in the center of the village.

Even if she hasn't entered the coming-of-age stage, it's still a risk for the omega to go out without a companion, especially if she doesn't have an alpha yet. That's why Cathy's family is so afraid of her going out on her own when she is fearless herself.

If Cathy didn't have a strong inner wolf, they would definitely not allow her to enter W Academy.

"Hey." Cathy opened her eyes and turned to see where her aid named Ole was. "I wonder how Marc. I will find out the news about him."

Ole immediately bowed and said nothing more; he just left.

Cathy knows that the fatal attraction of the fated mate is really strong. If you stop it, your life will definitely be in more danger, and you will be fighting the alpha of that omega.

Also, out of a hundred percent, only zero point zero zero one finds a fated mate. Because of the fatal attraction, even though they have no feelings for each other, they fall in love.

"Vin, fated mate is so scary, right?" Cathy whispered.

Vin looked over. "I don't know, Miss Cathy. After all, I am a beta. We don't have a fated mate like you alphas and omegas, but we do have a mate. If I compare what happens to us, betas, to what happens to you alphas and omegas, it's true, it's scary."

Cathy just stared and closed her eyes again. "But there are still some omegas who died because they were rejected by their alpha," Cathy added.

Cathy remembered what happened to an omega that they had heard a story about before. There was an omega who died because his alpha rejected him. Those two are fated mates, but they end up ruining their lives. That was one of Cathy's fears.

"I hope that doesn't happen to Marc," Cathy prayed.

Vin stopped, turned around, and looked at Cathy. "Miss, you know Marc; he is not the type of omega who is easily discouraged. After all, he grew up with you. You have the same mindset. Even if the Eastern Representative Vellum dislikes him, Sir Marc will not despair."

Cathy sighed, not speaking. She agreed with the part that Marc is strong and not easily discouraged, but she disagreed with the part that Marc will not feel despair; that is impossible. After all, she's an omega.

Omegas are very fragile when it comes to their mates. They could do everything for their alpha, but once their alpha abandoned them, they would surely die of suffocation and rejection.

That's what some betas like Vin don't understand.

"Miss." Cathy turned and saw Ole. "Sir Marc's sudden heat subsided a lot. Duchess Alice said there are still some pheromones left to leak since he has faced his fated alpha, but this is enough to calm him down. The guard also told me that the day before the all representatives leaves, Vellum would talk to Marc and his family."

Cathy immediately understood the meaning of Ole's report. It just means Vellum is acknowledging Marc as his fated mate.

Cathy was relieved. At least she knows that he will accept him. Even so, she needed to talk to him.

"Once everything is settled, find a chance for me to talk to Vellum. It's okay even with Marc. I just want to warn him."

Vin and Ole looked at each other. They know Cathy, and since they have been serving here for a long time, they already know her behavior.

Cathy is the type of person who really appreciates being different. She doesn't want anything bad to happen to her friend, especially if they are really close. As far as Cathy was concerned, they knew that she would speak up to strengthen Marc's position in Vellum's pack.

Their young miss is really courageous and admirable.

The next morning, the second match in the Beta Warrior Selection started an hour earlier than the scheduled time. At that time, Vellum was among those sitting in the representative seat.

The four dominant alpha outsiders sitting just below Duke Dominic's family were looked upon and truly admired.

The battle lasted for several hours until the other beta won and Duke Dominic could choose the warroirs.

Fifteen.

Out of the fifty who took the Beta Warrior Selection, only fifteen got in, and Sean was included in that. Sean was very happy and proud to face Cathy.

Cathy snorted. "Even if you're chosen, you still won't win over me."

Sean grabbed his chest, pretending to be hurt. "That mouth of yours, Cathy, has no brakes. You're making me sick."

Cathy rolled her eyes. "Is it my fault that you are weaker than me?"

Sean clapped his hands. "Wow, I didn't think your head would be so high, Cathy."

Cathy picked up something from her surroundings and threw it at Sean. "You really ruin the mood sometimes!"

When the afternoon came, Cathy heard that Marc was going to join Vellum on his way to the Eastern Pack. Not only that, Cathy was surprised that Vellum was able to quickly agree with Marc's parents, as they care for Marc a lot.

"Miss, I told Sir Marc." Cathy violently turned to Ole. "I told him that you want him and Vellum to talk, and if possible, they should go here alone."

Cathy stood up and gave a thumbs-up. "Very good!" She exclaimed and smiled widely. "Now, let's get ready."

At first, Vin and Ole didn't understand this, but when Cathy took her cape, they immediately sighed and followed her.

Cathy went to her receiving room and was sure Vellum and Marc would be waiting there.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, his face was red as Marc held his scarp in one hand and his fated mate's hand on the other. He didn't think that this time he would meet his fated mate, he just thought that he would only have a normal relationship with the alpha and that's why when Vellum came, he didn't expect it.

"Are you sure it's okay for me to see Miss Cathy? We were forbidden to see her before," Vellum said softly, holding Marc's hand tightly.

Because of this, Marc noticed that Vellum was nervous and restless.

Marc laughed weakly. "Don't say you're nervous to see Cathy?"

Vellum halted. "Yeah," he answered. "Who wouldn't? The Duke and his three sons give us a stern warning to stay away from her," he added.

Marc laughed. "I already asked for the Duke Dominic and Duchess Alice's permission, and they granted me this one. They allowed me to introduce you to Cathy. Cathy is our leader in our little omega circle, so I can't bear not introduce you to her. Also, she will be angry if I don't introduce you to her."

Vellum patted his chest with his other hand. "His brothers are scary; can't she be scary too?"

Marc stopped for a moment, thinking about it. "She's scary? I don't think so. For us, Cathy is really nice. When it comes to outsiders, maybe." He shrugged his shoulders. Marc burst out laughing when he saw Vellum's reaction. "I'm just kidding. That's okay, Cathy won't hurt you."

Vellum pouted his lips. "It's not a funny joke."

The smile couldn't be removed from Marc's lips. He never thought that a dominant alpha like Vellum, who was one of the most admired in the Eastern Pack, would have this kind of attitude.

When they arrived in front of the door of Cathy's receiving area, the beta male guarding it immediately bowed. After that, he knocked and then spoke, "Miss Cathy, Sir Marc and Sir Vellum are here."

"Let them in."

Vellum's face immediately showed surprise. Just from her voice alone, Vellum knew she had a beautiful and angelic face. Apart from that, if, for him, Marc is the most beautiful omega he has ever seen, he knows that in the eyes of others, Marc's leader is the most beautiful. He doesn't know why her family is hiding her though.

When Marc and Vellum entered, they immediately saw Cathy facing the window with her back and turned around. Just by looking at her back, everyone aside from those who had a mate would fall in love in an instant.

When it appeared, Vellum couldn't believe it. The beauty of the omegas in the Northern Pack was undeniably superior to the beauty of the omegas boasted in the Eastern Pack and Capital.

"Cathy, finally, you showed yourself." Marc approached her and hugged her. "Sorry, I made you worried."

Cathy shook her head. "As long as you're okay, I'm fine with that." Cathy shifted her gaze and landed on Vellum. Vellum gulped when he saw how she stared at him. "And I suppose you're Vellum of the Eastern Pack, right?"

Vellum immediately bowed and said, "Yes, Miss Cathy. I am Vellum, the second dominant alpha in the Eastern Pack."

When Vellum stood up properly, Cathy immediately looked at him, sizing him. She won't let Marc just end up with someone who won't appreciate him.

"Vellum, was it?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure you'll take care of Marc?"

Vellum stopped but immediately answered, without hesitation. "Yes!"

"Can you be sure that you will be able to protect him, not let him be hurt, not let him be alone and underestimated just because he is someone from another pack?"

Vellum's face darkened at Cathy's question, but Cathy knew it only meant one thing: she was ready to sacrifice everything.

"Yes!"

Cathy walked closer. "You know the alpha's instinct and possessiveness, don't you?" Vellum nodded. "I'm telling you, omegas are possessive too. It's easy for omegas to get angry, especially if there are people trying to usurp their alpha, especially if the bond they have are a fated. Now, can you promise me that Marc will be the only omega in your life until you die?"

Vellum placed his fist on his left chest. "I promise. I just want to tell you that we dominant alphas, once we meet our fated mate, they will be our mate for as long as we live."

Vellum's chest was full of nervousness when he spoke. He couldn't believe that he would fight with Cathy with words. Not only is Cathy a beautiful omega, but Vellum also feels something strange about her. You think he's different from the omegas. That's probably the reason why Marc has so much respect for him, and Vellum can see it.

"Cathy," Marc called, holding her hand. "Thanks for worrying about me, but I promise I'll be happy."

Cathy sighed because she knew there was nothing she could do. "Fine," she answered, and she patted his head. "Promise me that when something bad happens to you, you will tell me immediately. When those Eastern Pack bullied you, tell me. I will make them submit and beg for your forgiveness, understood?"

It was a normal talk for Marc, but it sent shivers down Vellum's spine. He didn't think there was anything scarier than his father.

"You are still part of my circle, Marc. Now, go ahead. I guess you guys already settled everything." She looked at Vellum. "Do you intend to mark him tonight?"

"Cathy!"

Cathy laughed out loud when she saw Marc's face turn red. He never thought Cathy would talk like that in front of an alpha.

Vellum smiled, and not only his lips were smiling but also his eyes. "Yes," he answered honestly.

Marc elbowed Vellum on the side of his stomach, which only made Cathy laugh so much. After that, they said goodbye.

Finally, Cathy felt at ease. At least she knows that her friend will be in good hands and in good condition. At least Vellum isn't like other alphas. Cathy saw all the answers to her question in Vellum's determined eyes.

"That dominant alpha's eyes look so determined," Ole commented.

"I saw desperation and admiration too," Vin added.

Cathy just smiled and then drank her wine. At least now she only has to worry about the three. She will make sure the three get married before her.
