Sixteen
It had been two days since the signing party. Jordan hadn't been going easy on himself. He barely slept and his eyes were puffy. He was blaming himself for all of that mess because he was sure that he was the main reason behind all of it. Had it not been for what he said, everything would've been fine between him and Aubrey. Perhaps he would have been able to ask her on a date if that didn't happen, but luck wasn't on his side.
After almost forty hours of being awake, exhaustion took over him and he passed out on the couch of his fancy house. Although he was a family guy, Jordan needed his space from time to time. He loved being alone at certain times and he enjoyed his personal space.

It was Aubrey's first time ever to drive that fast, but she was worried about him and she was scared that he might wake up at any moment and drive back to his place. She didn't want him to drive while he was drunk. She could not afford another loss for the same reason. She was not going to live that misery again. She was not ready to put flowers on the grave of somebody else who was dear to her. The moment she walked inside the pub, her eyes looked for the bar, doing her best to spot Jordan. Aubrey was awoken by someone furiously shaking her at nine in the morning. She groaned as she opened her eyes and looked up at whoever was shaking her; Maria was in front of her. She expected that to happen. She already knew that if Maria woke up before her, she'd bombard her with billions of questions."What exactly is Jordan exactly doing on our couch?" Jordan picked the letter that was on Aubrey's car windshield. He had already thought that it could be a letter from a fan, but on opening the letter after asking for Aubrey's permission, he was sure that it was not from a fan. It was more of a threat. This letter was most probably from the same person who sent Aubrey the teddy bear. "What does it say?" Aubrey asked him. He did not want to freak her out, but she had the right to know. She needed to take the necessary precautions after all.'Aubrey, Jordan is no good for you. What was he doing at your place last night? You're much better than him. Three days had passed since Aubrey was attacked. On the night of the attack, she stayed with Jordan. He did not leave her side even though she was not as shaken up as she used to be, but he was being extremely cautious, like how one approaches a butterfly, afraid of scaring it away. He could not believe it, but Aubrey slept in his arms that night; it was not intentional, however, he could not deny his glee the following morning when he woke up and found her head nuzzled in the crook of his neck while his arm was around her small waist. Maria woke up in the morning and she made her way to the kitchen after she took a shower. On seeing two figures sleeping on the couch, she jumped back and let out a muffled scream as she placed a hand over her chest. It was turned into a bed, so it would be more comfortable.
