CHAPTER FIFTY: GAME OVER!
Kayla's POV
The men stood around me, leering at me and the leader lost his apprehension entirely, having all his men to aid him. He strode towards me confidently, invading my personal space and I raised my brows at him.
"Oh, so you are not going for a one on one this time? Scared a woman will beat your ass...again?" I asked with a smirk.
"You!" he raised his hand as if to slap me and flinched with pain, as his eyes went down to his hand which was trembling under the exertion.
"It hasn't healed yet? Must have broken quite terribly."
"Woman! You are asking for death! If you weren't just so gorgeous, I would have torn you to pieces and fed them to my boys already. But it would be a waste to destroy such beaut

Kayla’s POVI watched Zane’s face as a myriad of emotions passed through his eyes; disbelief, recognition, confusion… Now that he knew my biggest secret, I waited for him to make his mind regarding what he was going to do. Was he going to attack me now or would he just report to the council?He had to find me just at the time I found a clue to track the one behind the attack on my pack. Kayla’s POVI looked at Zane and took a deep breath before delving into my troubled past.“After Uncle Xavier recognised me as a Feral wolf, I was so rattled by the information that I was in a constant state of worry and distraction. I got pissed off for even the smallest of things and I convinced myself that I will go insane any day, leaving me unable to fulfil any of my missions in life,” I sighed. “Exactly one month after the rogues attacked my pack, I faced the challenges for my Alpha position. With my Feral strength, I easily handled the challenges, and that was when I decided that I needed to start searching for the rogue who had escaped the night of the rogue attack.”“I had heard of how there were fifty challengers for your position and how you fought ten of them and even killed one. I always thought it was just an exaggerated tale, but I guess not…” Zane muttered.

Kayla’s POVI looked at Zane as he sat there with a blank expression on his face. His characteristic smirk was absent from his face, which meant he was thinking hard about something. As the moments passed and I got no reply from Zane, it was as if a heavyweight was placed on my chest, making it hard for me to breathe. I had pleaded to him to forget about me and stay away from the mess that was my life. I really didn’t want him to get involved with me when there was a high chance that I would go insane any day or get hunted down by the council. I didn’t want him to suffer because of me, and I should have been happy when he was deciding I wasn’t worth the trouble. I really should have been. Kayla’s POVZane leaned towards me and bit his lip in concentration, making my gaze lock onto his lips, which looked a little swollen from our kiss. Already I was thinking of pulling him back to me and kissing him again. Who knew kissing could be this addictive? I had always thought that kissing would be awkward and sloppy. How wrong I was!When Zane gently touched my face, sending tingles spread over my entire face, I was snapped out of my not so innocent thoughts. As he wiped off the tears from my face, I started unblinkingly into his eyes, which were filled with so much tenderness that I felt like crying again. What was wrong with me? Why was I feeling like crying at the simplest of things? I had bottled up my emotions for so long and now that they were freed from their cage, was I going to be a teary, snotty mess all the time? The thought was enough to sober me up as I cringed at imagining me crying at the drop of a hat. N
