Allie's POV
I did not hold off for him to finish his sentence before sauntering out of the room with a thudding heart. Aaron did not skip to give me that suspicious glare which made him cut off whatever he was about to let out. But I made sure I eavesdropped to hear his first utterance.I huddled my left ear to the wicket, my butt pointed north side after I had make sure no one is moving towards the passageway just then, I heard him holler at his father"Why did you refuse to use your medications?! Are you planning to kill yourself? "I huffed at his rudeness. Till today, I still don't have any idea why these two don't seem to get along. It's a quizzical and logical something which I got no answers to.I puffed out, relieved that he did not hear a dim of our conversation. Although, my heart was still whipping non-stop my clarification made my breathing subside a little.I thought I had passed through moments of being a scary cat for this man, guessed I was wrong but considering my dialogue with Dad earlier, I was bound to be spooked immediately he dashed in.I stepped down from the steps slowly and steadily towards Mum. She was busy with her phone. A thought struck me again and right there I started feeling jittery.I decided to do what came to my mind. I plumped heavily on the divan to get her attention."Ooh Allie" She presumed, with her usual warm smile plastered on her facade. I exhaled in relief like the Aaron situation too. I thought she might have overheard us too.Delighted that there is no rationale for me to feel uneasy, even though guilt still washed over me at the thought that both Aaron and Mum did not figure out my supposed deal."Have you seen Aaron? " she asked, interrupting me from my jam-packed brood."Yeah, he is with Dad" I answered, unlike before, whenever she asked about him, I always gave out a displeased utterance while she would smile at my umbrage. After some minutes of hesitation,"Mum""Huh""What is it you want to discuss that has Aaron concerned about it? " I polled, curiosity getting the best of me."Nosy huh, just wait ok""ok"I pull out my phone from my back satchel, scrolling through the messages if I have gotten a missed call or anything but was disappointed to find out I was extracted from the employee's group chat.I held up my head after a dominating figure ascended the staircase." You need to relocate," he let out before sitting on the couch.I knew it was related to yesterday's incident."I thought we were over this Mum" I grimaced, averting my gaze to her"But you were confiscated yesterday, is that not enough reason for you? , we are not even supposed to be the ones to suggest you should relocate" Aaron muttered in frustration. It's my life. Why is he so worked up about it? I don't like the notion of Aaron interfering in this. I just dislike this man.I adjusted my position on the couch to sit up before I replied, "And if I ever want to confide in someone about this matter, not you Aaron, you can't be and would never be my last option""You know what you are? You are an ungrateful bitch" he cursed, unconcerned about Mum's presence.Yeah Arrogant and disrespectful. I will show him he is not the only one that has a bad mouth."You just called me unappreciative, then what are you? An arrogant, and stupid wench. Who doesn't think about other feelings before making decisions.""I would never be your last option, but you invoked me when you were in menace yesterday. How much I regret picking up your call" he reckoned, his eyes brewing red.Satisfied that my statement earlier actually hurt him. I calmed down when I realized he was my knight last night."But Dad said he is fine with me living there, as long as I am happy" I enunciated, switching to the main topic for our gathering. But it seems Aaron wouldn't let his pride down easily just like that."And that dad of yours was not cognizant that you were abducted. "he pointed out."I'm not talking to you" I responded tiredly, hoping he won't interrupt me again."Mum, I will be fine. I promise""No, you wouldn't." he disagreed."Dad would..""Dad this, Dad that. Just shut it already. Mum is only looking out for you. Just listen to her for once" he groaned."It's really difficult for me not to think there is nothing more than what we think is going on between you two," he said in between his teeth.Mum unconsciously spat the water in her mouth out. She was surprised by his outburst but I was infuriated."You must be crazy you must be out of your mind. How can you, gosh oh my God" I blabbed, not able to find a distinct word to reply to his absurd statement. How obnoxious."Who the hell thinks that? You are too dirty-minded. What are you? 16, 19?" I flared, now on my foot, my hand placed on my waist and my breathing rapid as ever."You don't have to react this way if my statement isn't genuine" he taunted, further pleased that he had finally hit me at the right spot."I.." Mum was about to interfere before he cut in with the most spontaneous remark."I'm sorry""Sorry?" I scoffed, my whole body boiling before I conceded that he just apologized."Huh""Hmm… I said sorry ok. I went too far. Now sit down let's talk this over. I need to get to work" he said, pinching the bridge of his nose nervously.Just like that, I looked over it and found a new way to discourage them from their suggestion."What about my job?" I requested, knowing that they are unaware that I was fired."You were fired weren't you?"I was stupefied when he answered."Ho.. how did you figure out about that?""What matters is that you are fired" he scoffed, throwing me a mocking glare.Ashamed, I goggled at Mum but she pretended to be thirsty as she lifted the glass mug to her lips.I refused to back down as I queried "Were you stalking me?" enraged at the thought of him admitting to that."Did you just say stalk?" he heckled, rubbing his index fingers on the space in-between his lips and nose."Who are you to be stalked by me?" he mocked further."That's enough Aaron" Mum intervened."If you did not stalk me how did you discover that I was fired" I challenged, furiously."Ok, ok that's enough honey, this is not the reason why I called you two, can we just talk on this and get over it," Mum signed, frustrated too."Don't you think it's unsafe for you to live there, Allie honey? , considering what happened the previous day,"I nodded, understanding her worries. But the forte is "Where do I relocate? ".I don't want to go back on my words that I would always be on my own, independent."I would resettle somewhere else,""Where?" she inquired with a raised eyebrow."A place close to where I reside""Ooh ok, leaving that aside. What about work?""I would go job hunting""Job hunting? ," Aaron cracked, but I ignored him, pretending to be focused."You can't go job hunting for now if you want to. Who knows those people might be back again, it seems it was leaked that you can be a prey to us""Just give it a reasonable thought, if you don't want to give me answers now, I can always wait dear. ""What should I think about?""You can't go roaming about dear, it's not like we are indulging you to work without more effort or stopping you from being on your own. It's just a job opportunity. You work and if they are impressed which I believe you wouldn't disappoint me""You can just grab it, Instead of being treated as an outcast by those people""If I ask you the excuse on why you were sacked, I'm very sure there is no valid reason, and that's because they don't know your worth" She lectured me while I listened carefully."If I accept the job then where do I live?""Live with me," Aaron muttered."Pardon?" I said with furrowed eyebrows."Live with me" he suggested, not daring to meet her gaze, not because he was scared but nervous about her reaction to what he said. "What! you are not trying to say that I should live in the same building as you? Are you? " she asked, with eyes almost popping out of its socket hoping that was not the message he was trying to convey. "What's wrong with that? and by the way, that wasn't my intent, but mum thinks it's safer if you live with me" he mumbled, rolling his eyes but he knew deep down he just lied against his mother. Her face hunkered up. She scoffed in incredulity that Mrs.Smith had intended to make her stay with Aaron. Aaron of all people! This had better be some kind of quip. She pressed her hands on her lap and folded her lips in themselves like someone who was trying to quell herself from lashing out their frustration. She was discerned not to give in to this certain whiff of theirs even if it was practically suggested by Mrs.Smith as Aaron supposed. She recalled tho
I woke up at dusk and my body was all weak. My vision is blurry for a moment trying to adjust to my surroundings till everything clicks. I sluggishly stretch my whole length on the comfy bed even though my eyes are not yet brightly open. It took me some minutes to remember that I had taken my siesta in a room different from mine.I groaned and reluctantly stood up. I was as famished as someone who hadn't eaten for days. I dragged my feet out of the room staring at the building having no idea where to find the kitchen. Nevertheless, I decided to wander around if I could get any clue. I successfully found the magnificent cooking space after some time. I used a few minutes to contemplate whether to make Aaron's food with mine then I decided to go with my compassionate mind and cook for him too I settled for mashed potato since that was the only ingredient I found. I left his potion in the stakes. Not even bothering to engage in food etiquette, I sauntered towards the living room and
The remaining days of the week passed away with me sleeping, going through my credentials, and taking advantage of the opportunity to tour the mansion. It was so bland. Mum gave me a buzz once and our conversation ended just as it started. Today is Sunday, a day that is supposed to be a relaxing day for workers but Aaron is nowhere to be found. Even the day before, I retained going out to peep if I would get a glimpse of him but neither did he show up nor call me. During those four days, I only saw him in the morning, which means I had slept while he was back. I ignored him like a plague after all he warned me to stay out of his business. Deep down, I knew it was not the right thing to do since my days here are limited. I precisely need to familiarize myself and focus on myself and my new job for now so I can tackle my deal. Before I slept off, I had set the alarm to 6:00 am and messaged Aaron which he did not reply. "I am yet to be with my car. Can you notify Richard to help pic
I puffed out air abruptly feeling frazzled, but I did a good job composing myself. I traipse forward, dragged the chair backwards, and sat on it. I handed over my credentials to him without reluctance when he asked for them while he watched my movement like he was tracking down another way to slur me. I did not give him the prospect as I kept an emotionless face combined with a grim smile trying not to convey a rude self. I noticed a smirk plastered on his face from the side of my eye. It made my heart swell in anger. I dislike the way he makes me feel like he knows what is going through my mind. I have no reason to be mad at him but I felt entitled to that emotion after he ditched me all alone in that huge house. Maybe I was overreacting. I adjusted the waistband of my skirt even though it was unwarranted. I was becoming nervous with the way he was taking a long time to ask questions. He cleared his voice bracing up to begin his queries after he had satisfied his urges to go thro
Allie's POVI caught up with him when he was about to press the elevator panel button. Breathing heavily, I had to clasp tight to my handbag with the hope that it would appease my inhalation. "Richard is waiting for you. You can start tomorrow," he informed me, veering around and gesturing his hand for me to collect my credentials which I had forgotten to take after my interview. "I don't want to go home" I whined before I could stop myself. I have no idea where that came from. "You can go shopping with him then." he implied, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. "I don't want to" I declined again as I followed him into the elevator. "Then what do you want?!" he yelled, his ocean-blue eyes boring into mine. I shivered backwards in fright. I knew I was behaving like I am sort of attached to him but did he have to react that way? "You don't have to be grumpy though" I mumbled, adjusting the bag on my shoulder. "Allie, you need to get this straight and clear. You aren't living with
Allie's POV Silence. We were all peacefully throwing gazes at each other as if waiting for the torpedo among us to clarify the situation. I racked my brain for the best retort to give Aaron who kept gaping from my legs to his chauffeur whose head is now bowed and hands folded like a kid caught at the moment he was about to steal meat from the pot of soup. "You can leave and be back tomorrow morning" Aaron dismissed, referring to his palpitating driver, Richard scampered out without hesitation or utterance. Aaron gave me an intense knowing stare before spinning around to leave. I clasped his arm not feeling settled regarding the fact that he did not say a phrase. He googled at my hand on his arm and I left it like it burnt me. I cleared my throat and voiced out what was on my mind, especially because Richard had told me what was reckoned to be a secret and I had spurred it out and now this, I wouldn't like to be the source of his misery. "I was the one that invited him to dinner.
A month later~~~~~~~ Allie's POV Swivel, waist showcase, flip the hair, blow a kiss. cut. "yeah! That's great, "The head of our group said, applauding the brown-haired model. I later comprehended his name to be Mr Gregory. He is talented, which got me clueless about why they ranked us with the least points after the month's evaluation. I still haven't had the chance to explore though, and there was a time I had wanted to point out a mistake but I held back with the agitation of history repeating itself. "That's the end for today. Remember, Allie your first project is next Monday." he reminded me, hands clasped together and his eyes scrutinizing me that was straining to hide my excitement. My phone and his pinged at the same time. He inspected his own and a smug grin appeared on his face. Without saying any more sentences he twirls around pressing his phone. I also swiped my iPhone to check what was up, and I was stunned to see a credit alert of $80,000. My eyes went wide
My sleepy eyes flew wide open at the message. I firmly held the phone, in agitation and read it word by word and yet it was correctly typed. No typography error. My heart beat out of rhyme a few times, eyebrows tucked and a finger on my lips internally deliberating on those scribbled words, until I reasoned on the best rejoinder to resolve my dazed state of mind " He must have messaged the wrong person". I sighed with ease, put it in silent mode and pressed the off button. I stretched my hand to slot my phone on the couch horizontally positioned beside the low mattress but it vibrated before my hand could make contact with the divan. I grumbled irritatedly and forcefully swiped to read the message. I was already angry, as I fumed like he was here. "We are going on a date tomorrow. Come back earlier""On a date? Why me? What's my business with you, Mr Aaron? you have numerous women at the tip of your fingers." I scoffed, unbelievably, hunching my back to smoothen my top that had sq
