chapter 2

The past few days have been hectic with meeting up with the pressing contracts in the company, and Rex was feeling very grateful that it had all ended for now until late next month. He picked up his leather Jacket from the couch in the living room and started heading to his garage. He had run out of groceries, and was heading to a supermarket in town to purchase some by himself. He hopped into his latest ride and drove out to the main road. A celebration party was hosted last weekend to mark the successful journey of the company so far, it was really a good experience and Rex loved every bit of it. His father graced the party and was so proud of him, it was only Sheba that was unable to because she is yet to come back from the states. Rex felt all alone in the party, but still stopped himself from misbehaving with the ladies throwing themselves at him.

His phone started vibrating and it checked it, there was an incoming video call from Sheba. He smiled before accepting the call.

"Hello babe," She called with excitement, showing her sparkling dentition.

"Hey honey, I'm actually driving right now. Can I call you back?" Rex said and glanced at her before focusing on the road.

"I really called at the wrong time, but I just wanted to see your face and hear your voice. I miss you so much," Sheba replied with a sad face.

"I miss you too, but I can't risk talking with you while driving, I might get carried away and lose control. I will call you when I get home," Rex said, trying to make Sheba see reasons with him. She sighed out loud before asking. "Where are you actually heading to?."

"To the supermarket to get some groceries. I will make it snappy and get back to you," Rex replied before faking a quick smile which died off after some seconds.

"Okay, be safe and careful," Sheba said as she was left with no other choice.

"Have a nice time, bye," Rex replied and ended the call. He wasn't really attached to Sheba and she knows that. He was just forcing everything just to please his father and have peace. Sheba was the daughter of a powerful Alpha which is the leader of a neighboring clan next to them, and his father wanted them to get married so they would join hands together as one to fight their long time enemy, a bigger werewolf pack which always posed a threat to their existence.

Rex packed his car in the public car park close to the supermarket he had in mind, and strode in. After going through each grocery section to get what he actually wants, he paid for them and started heading back to his car. He opened the boot and placed them in there before closing it. He unlocked the car and opened the driver seat to hop in and start leaving. His gaze went towards a big five star hotel around the vicinity, he saw the petite blonde woman he saved some days ago in the arms of another advanced man. They were acting all loved up, and he didn't know why this got him angry. He shut the car door and channeled his full attention towards them, thinking of what to do. It had only been some days he saved her from an abuser, and now she was already in the arms of another man who doesn't look different. Rex growled as he got more angry and started walking towards them, but they disappeared into the hotel before he could go any further, this increased his temper and he rushed towards them with speed. On getting there he dragged the woman away from the man and pushed off which left the man crashing to the ground with force. The blonde woman looked at him with horror.

"Why did you push him away?" she asked with a fear stricken face.

"Follow me," Rex said and grabbed her hand. He started leaving the hotel premises, dragging her along against her will.

"Leave me alone," the blonde woman cried out, struggling to be free but Rex didn't let go of her, he kept on dragging her along with him.

"Ain't you hearing me, leave me alone," the blonde woman yelled on top of her voice.

"Just shut up," Rex yelled with anger when he couldn't take her yelling anymore.

"Where are you taking me to?" She asked, still struggling to be free. Rex carried her up and put her on his shoulder to quicken his movement. The blonde woman started screaming on top of her voice, this time attracting the attention of people around the vicinity but Rex didn't care, he walked towards his car and opened his back door. He brought her down and helped her fit into the back seat before locking the door.

"Hey!" Let me out," the blonde woman yelled, banging on the car window, but Rex didn't listen to her. He moved to the driver's seat and hopped in. He started the car and drove off.

"Please stop the car, bring me down," the blonde woman pleaded but Rex wasn't paying attention, he only focused on the road.

"Where are you taking me to?" the blonde woman asked with panic and held the driver's seat.

"Don't think of doing anything stupid," Rex warned as he felt her hands on the driver's seat.

"I don't care, if you don't tell me the reason for your actions earlier then_"

"That's enough," Rex thundered, cutting her short. He didn't stop the car nor say anything to her.

"Do you think I'm kidding?" the blonde woman asked and grabbed his shirt from the back seat.

"Are you crazy?" Rex yelled with anger and suddenly stopped the car in the middle of the road, the road was less busy so it didn't create any havoc. He glared at her with burning eyes, and she winced with fear before letting him go. He started the car and drove to a corner.

"Let me out, I don't care about your explanation anymore," the blonde woman said and tried to open the door.

"Not yet until you explain I know what you were going to do with a man old enough to be your father in that hotel," Rex fired, his gaze fierce with anger.

"Why do you care? I don't think I owe you any explanation," the blonde woman replied without fear.

"Do you even care about your well being. You ain't even scared that you might be abused again?" Rex asked.

"That's my issue, not yours. Please stay out of my business and don't act like you are any different from them," the blonde woman accused.

"What makes you think I'm like them," Rex asked, getting more enraged. He could feel his wolf threatening to come out.

"You killed him at will and acted like nothing happened. You also attacked another without no remorse. So what makes you think you ain't a bad person just like each one of them?" the blonde woman asked, glaring back at Rex.

"I did all that because of you. I had to kill him to save you, ain't you glad and happy about it?" Rex asked back and fully turned towards her.

"I don't care but you are a murder, and I don't want to be around you. I might turn out to be a victim too," the blonde woman said, fear evident on her face this time around. Rex could barely control his anger again, he jumped at her, and pressed her to the back seat.

"Don't you dare, call me a murder," he said coldly, staring right into her hazel eyes. The blonde woman winced with her heart racing fast with fear. She didn't say anything, and only stared at Rex with a fear stricken face. Rex realized she was now very scared and let go of her. He sat beside her and looked away. After some minutes of silence he calmly said.

"You are too innocent and calm to be engaging yourself with such dangerous men." The blonde woman didn't say anything in reply, she remained calm and closed her eyes.

"What if I hadn't shown up, and acted like the people around the other day. You might have been brutally beaten or killed by that heartless man. I'm not posing any danger, I'm only trying to help and I also never killed him because I wanted to, I just couldn't restrain my anger," Rex quietly explained, trying to make himself clear.

"I don't care, just open the door and let me go," the blonde woman said.

"Fine," Rex said and pressed on a button in the car, the car door beside her opened and she quickly went out without even looking at Rex and banged the door. Rex felt so bad as he watched her leave, he only kicked the car door, trying to letting out his anger.
