Interesting chapter here! Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it… We have a funny trio now.. lol And we continue in the next chapter…
{Isla’s POV} The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful as Daniel, Cayden and I pushed ourselves through the thick woodlands of the Northern Reigns. I was vibing with the peace and quiet but I couldn’t say the same for Cayden or Daniel. They were strolling some distance behind me but I could sense their fear as they watched the rugged blood-bathed she-wolf who happened to be their Queen. I didn’t say anything to them and they didn’t say anything to me, and slowly, tension was being added to the peaceful atmosphere. I needed to do something about that. “Daniel.” I suddenly called, not bothering to look back at the duo. “Yes, Your Highness?” Daniel promptly responded. “The Rogue camp where you were being held hostage, how many Lycans did you see there?” I asked, still strolling ahead of them. On the other hand of trying to remove the tension in the air, I needed to know if the diseased ragged warrior’s word were authentic— if there were only one Lycan in every Rogue camp. “Uh… I-
{Isla’s POV}How the hell are we at Ivanka’s Pack? I looked at Cayden and the look on his face made everything make sense. This was an intentional move. We would find a Pack we could rest at and while we do, Cayden can address the smudge.Ivanka’s that smudge. But then again, I’m Queen. I’m supposed to have a say in these sorts of confrontations since I’m the ruler of both Packs in question and Queen to both werewolves in question.Right?Cayden noticed the look on my face and turned to look at me.“I said I knew a Pack we could rest at and this is the one.” He said in an unrushed manner.“And that pack surprisingly turns out to be Ivanka’s?” I asked.“Yeah.” He said and I glared at him the more.A bolt of lightning shot through the sky with its flicker of light and then a loud thunderclap stabbed the silence before rain started pouring down. That was our cue to go in.I had never been to Ivanka’s Pack before so I didn’t know what to expect.Weirdos?Demons?Or both?We started strol
{Isla’s POV}There was sudden silence now, except for the sound of rain splattering on every stretch of the land around us.I kept mute, relishing the expression on Ivanka’s face. She looked at me like I had my breasts poking out of my mouth.Okay, that’s a very strange analogy. But yeah! Ivanka couldn’t believe the sight before her. The sudden transition from a freak to her Queen left her dumbstruck.I like how the ‘her Queen’ part sounds. I folded my arms over my chest now as Ivanka’s eyes began splaying over my body. It was obvious she was wondering how she managed to skip the realization that I was the one all along. But suddenly, she threw her eyes back to mine, and her face was bent in a glare.“Seize her!” She bawled suddenly at her warriors.I looked around but none of her men attempted to do her bidding. No one dared inch a muscle.I looked back at Ivanka with a teasing smile spread over my lips and she scowled even more.“I said, seize her! She may be the Queen, but she’s no
{Cayden’s POV}This thought is going to be about two opposites. Isla and I.I’m arrogant and ego-inflated. I don’t like to do the right things for other people’s sake because then, I’ll feel like I’m doing the wrong thing to myself.Isla deserves my apology. She saved my mother from drowning in flames and even brought my mother to her Palace to aid her treatment and recovery. That act of hers is enough to be more than grateful but yet I have appreciated her. Why?I don’t know. It’s hard to just change and throw away who I used to be and even though I want to change so badly, my pride won't let me.But I’m working on that…There used to be a better Cayden. One that cared about peoples’ feelings. One that knew how to love. One that would consciously never want to hurt you. That Cayden was killed a long time ago— killed by a very savage and ruthless man known as ‘Dad’. I think that’s the common name for those creatures. My Dad killed every softness I had in me and taught me that love ma
{Isla’s POV}We were in the vast field before the Arena and the entire Reignile army was assembled before us. By ‘we’, I mean my mother, Carlot, Cayden, Daniel, Ralph, and me. We served as a group of Witnesses. Witnesses to the crafty scheme of the enemy— that there were traitors amongst the Reignile army, as I had figured out during the last Rogue mission.I had told my mother how General Raand, our map reading General, had betrayed us and led us to our deaths— for two instances now! I had also told her how our new recruits were the minions in this vile scheme. Hence, we were here to fish the remaining ones out, learn how they managed to deceive us and punish them afterward. But we needed to be careful about it. These people were obviously smart and for all I know, they could be more than the 500 I had supposed them to be. I could only use the Stats to fish out the growing praised brothers among the warriors, but it didn’t mean that there might not be other infiltrators with unsuspic
{Isla’s POV}Have you ever heard of a Massive arrest before?-- About 513 people.Well, that’s what we did here today. The new recruits— a.k.a; The traitors, were all confused when I made all of them kneel and commanded the other warriors to chain them up.A true Reignile warrior would never approve of fighting their Queen.Never! But these cunts wanted to face me. They wanted to prove their worth so badly and earn a promotion that they gave themselves up. Skill was more important than loyalty.Because the new recruits had thought it was part of the test, they had allowed the other warriors to wrap them up in chains and bind them to one another. But along the line, after more than half of their numbers had been bound in silver chains, it started becoming obvious to the others. Hence, they had tried to escape, but it had been too late for that.Warriors had bordered every angle and escape point— per my discreet instructions, leaving them with fighting as their only option— which was obv
{Isla’s POV}Yesterday had been a very tough, rough, and strange day.The tough part was due to the mass arrest of the Palace infiltrators. That feat had been very demanding, both physically and especially mentally. The rough part was because I had argued with Ralph. I still don’t understand why he was so worked up because Daniel and Lucil were here. I know it seems like I’m bringing the whole family to the Palace but I’m just doing what I think is right. Naí Sassaba is still in the Palace receiving her treatment. I can’t just send her away.Sigh.Strange— for the strange part.Yesterday had been very strange, strange because of Cayden. He had acted… strange.I know I used so many ‘strange’ but… I don’t know how to explain it. Something’s definitely odd.“Andrea,” I called loudly. “I think the bodice of this dress is a little too tight. It’s making my hips too obvious.” I said, checking myself out in the wall mirror. No answer.I swiveled around to realize I was the only one in the ro
{Isla’s POV}I walked into the room and Naí Sassaba and Lucil shot up to their feet and bowed. “Your Highness.” They both chorused and I smiled warmly at them. A part of me was tempted to tell them to fall on their knees and rub their tongues all over the ground. And thereafter, make them fight each other.Good stuff. But I’m joking. I can’t make them do that.“Naí Sassaba, Lucil.” I smiled at them and turned to Lucil. “How are you today?” I asked her and I could feel her tense up. Am I really that intimidating? “I’m fine, Your Highness.” She bowed and I smiled at her warmly. I needed her to know that I meant no harm even though I knew her uneasiness was due to her guilt. “Your Highness.” Naí Sassaba’s voiced called my attention back to her and before I knew it, she was on her knees before me.“What—” I started to say but then she cut me off.“Your Highness. Thank you!” She said, gripping my legs.“For what?” I asked, motioning to make her get up.“For saving my daughter, Your Hig
