Chapter Eleven

At the field. I took in the war breeze. It was soothing. It calmed my nerves instead of otherwise. Somehow I knew I belonged there, in the battle field.

We had to lay ambush, so we all lay down, with our eyes and guns ahead disguising in the grass. Divided into two groups, I was in Julius' side.

"So what next?" I asked Julius who was beside me. I was obviously losing my patience as I saw many of our soldiers fall before us.

"We wait, I will be waiting for their signal to strike."

Some of the crones are on the helicopter with their comms on. They are to release the explosives on order.

The shooting noise took the atmosphere. We had to be shouting so we could here ourselves. Then someone from my group got hit, straight in the head. He died with his eyes open, instantly. It was my first time seeing someone drop dead right beside me. I clenched my teeth as I moved to where he lay and closed his eyes with my palms. Feeling very emotional.

"We have been discovered, run for cover!"
